The displays don't "harm" anyone; they just "help" him personally, which is the problem. I’d written on #mastodon a while back that I hadn’t heard from any of my long-time Swiss friends, including the family that hosted me when I was a teen 40+ years ago. I’m quite close to them & they haven’t missed a “Noël” in over 4 decades. They typically send me chocolate. So, it’s heartening to finally receive this one letter. Some interesting "detritus" I just found out about yesterday. Mavis Staples of the Staples Singers confessed that her one & only true love was Bob Dylan. Dylan proposed to her in 1962 but she refused him, scared of being married to a white man back when it was still outlawed in many states. They both went on to marry others, but stayed in touch for years, even having an affair, which Staples broke off in 1969. It’s good that you got your booster. I got mine 3 weeks ago. I had COVID this past June when I had to accompany my husband when he went to the hospital for minor surgery. So, I had to wait about 4-5 months before getting the latest shot ahead of the holidays. It keeps us from having severe outcomes or hospitalization, for sure.

That would be akin to the German government installing statues of Rommel, Goring & Kesselring, which in that country is ILLEGAL. Think about it. Our government is trying to revive the myth of The Lost Cause by rewriting history. What’s next? A monument to the January 6th insurrectionists?
