If you still feel this is a bug, could you please report it? I do not have a GitHub account and have no plans to create an account with Microsoft. You also have the error logs, and if this were a bug, you would be in a much better position to generate a useful report than I would.

私は以前からこの問題に気づいていましたが、以前のバージョンにはいくつか不具合があったため、Misskey側のバグだと思っていました。しかし、現在はサイトが更新されているので、問題はMisskey自体ではないと分かりました。

3枚のスクリーンショットを見れば、このサイト、あるMastodonサイト、そして別のMisskeyサイトが表示されているのが分かると思います。最後の返信が表示されていないのは、このサイトで見た場合だけです。また、私は別の場所でもアカウントを作成しましたが、この問題が起きるのはここだけだと気づきました。時々、このサイトでは投稿が表示されなくなることがあります。

実際、これはまさに完璧な例です。というのも、その投稿は単なる無関係な投稿ではなく、私宛ての投稿だったからです。

I had noticed this problem some time ago, but as the previous version had a few glitches, I assumed it was a bug on Misskey’s end. However, as the site has now been updated, I realise the problem does not lie with Misskey itself.

If you look at the three screenshots, you will see a screenshot from this site, a Mastodon site, and another Misskey site are displayed. The last reply is not shown only when viewed on this site. I have also created accounts elsewhere, but I have noticed that this problem occurs only here. Occasionally, posts stop appearing on this site.

This is actually a perfect example, because the post is not a random post, but rather a post addressed toward me.

People are so very focused with the war in Iran, that they often forget ICE is still roaming the streets, and over 5,000 people who have been "obtained" have vanished never to be heard from again. Those who are "released" are often done so in remote areas without any identification, phone, or money on them and are left in the middle of nowhere. Often during bad weather or poor climate.

I think people use Mastodon because it has that more twitter-like layout, but it is severely lacking in features and compatibility within the Fediverse. I worry about that compatibility because if most sites were to completely rely on a single development, that could spell trouble within the decentralized network.

My biggest issue in seeking new employment will be being a 45-year-old with virtually no verifiable work experience, because all my previous employers no longer exist. That, I imagine, will be my biggest concern. My lack of personal references because of this, plus everyone I once knew being dead (COVID), only compounds that problem.

I work for Meta, but not Meta USA, even though I am in the USA. They transferred me around the time they switched me from hourly to salary, when the work-from-home program ended up being more than a pilot program. My boss is on the other side of the planet and hasn’t communicated directly with me for months. Honestly, during the last round of layoffs, I was certain I was going to be included, but the person who said we needed to talk about my performance ended up being laid off themselves, and so no one ever rescheduled that meeting. That said, the fact that my supervisor is on the other side of the planet means possible future employers are going to need to reach out during their time zone, compared to ours.

Meta (Facebook) may look nice on my resume, but I am uncertain whether it will be a pro or a con. That said, perhaps I am overthinking things, and six years here should be enough to stand out. This is all to say, I am just as curious (and concerned) as you are.

For now, I’m still employed and working here. All this worry could be for nothing, but my time off was very much needed. Putting my employment status aside, the job itself can sometimes be soul-crushing. The past few days at work have been insane — more than usual.

I’m just fed up with the way things are run under our current policies, so I needed to escape and take some time away.

There are rumors of layoffs soon, and I already have three write-ups within the past year for doing what I felt was morally and ethically right, even though it went against policy because of “freedom of speech.” If I am going to be laid off (I don’t know that, but it’s possible), I’d rather it happen while I’m still being paid and able to relax, instead of slaving away for this corporation and doing its dirty work.

I also hope that if layoffs do happen, someone currently on “bereavement” might be in a safer position.

I’m not trying to lose my job, but I am also having a harder time stomaching this job while innocent people are being hurt by our policies, and we reward bad people for behaving poorly.

A grown man, for example, should not have the “right” to imply some young woman experiencing a clear mental crisis should end her life for wanting equality and justice, while implying her purpose is only to “breed,” and our policy shouldn’t claim this is “freedom of speech” because no lines were technically crossed. Or a MAGA supporter shouldn’t be implying people “find people” who are anti-fascist and imply “something” should be done to resolve their place in the world, and it too is allowed because technically, somehow, this is also “freedom of speech.” Nor should I be required to forward someone to our legal department for review simply because a woman let it slip she may have had an abortion, and the state she lived in has decided they’re retroactively punishing people for their past choices made with their own bodies.

I dislike my job, but I also find my work history isn’t worth much because all the places I previously worked no longer exist. And everyone I personally once knew died years ago during COVID. I have been here at Meta for nearly six years now, and I hope that is enough verified experience that I can use to find another form of employment, if needed. But damn Meta for changing things in favor of Trump and his goons. Fuck, Mark Zuckerberg, you damn dirty bastard.

Motorola was my first smartphone (Moto X4). Before that, I had always been using a flip phone, and before that, those old brick phones. I avoided so-called smartphones for years and was the last person I knew who had not yet gotten one.

I bought my X4 closer to the end-of-life phase because it was my first smartphone, and I hadn’t yet learned everything I know now. But I learned that Motorola is not great for long-term usage.

Motorola has the habit of releasing so many makes and models in a single year that, even with the 3,000-character limit here on Misskey, I don’t think I could list every model and variation they released in the last year or two. For example, there were four to six different versions of the Motorola G7. But even though I bought my phone early, they dropped support for it pretty early on in practice. I say “in practice” because their documentation claimed longer support, when in reality it was cut off sooner.

I decided to go with a brand I trusted, which was Nokia. That was a big mistake, because buying the Nokia 5.3 meant finding out Nokia had recently discontinued the option to unlock the phone, and they pushed out an update that bricked many devices.

My Google Pixel 7 is only my third smartphone. It is fully unlocked and is running GrapheneOS. Clearly, as you can tell, I don’t phone-hop. I buy a device and expect it to last.

If Android continues down this path, and somehow GrapheneOS doesn’t continue, I will either buy my first Linux phone or consider going back to flip phones while they still make them, which, surprisingly, they do. If that were not an option, my next phone will be something imported from Europe or China, outside the direct control of the United States.

Of course, the absolute worse case is I stop relying on cellular phones.

My job at Meta has gotten a little easier.

For years, there has been a group of people promoting a type of content involving relationships that aren’t considered the social norm. To get around filters, they would post modified screenshots from another social media platform that allowed this content.

Feeling both thankful and curious about why I hadn’t seen this behavior recently, I checked out the other platform. It seems they’ve finally cleaned house and removed that type of content.

About time — it took them a few years. I just wish they had done it sooner.

I remember hearing the social horror stories — which turned into a meme — of kids putting bologna in DVD players, while Maine was asking, “What’s a DVD player?” And that simple, comical example has held true for many things between those two states. 😂

Lots to unpack here.

1) I deleted my account with Mastodon long ago in 2024.

I think that is the most important thing to note here, because if Mastodon is keeping my account they are no better than Facebook.

2) Today is March 25, 2026. This claims the issue (whatever it was) took place September 9, 2024 — 1 year, 6 months, and 16 days ago (562 days ago).

People have been saying the moderation on Mastodon Dot Social is bad, but this is ridiculous.

3) Since my account was deleted — Or should have been — I have no idea what this is even about. 🤷

What would be a good immutable Linux distro, sometimes called an atomic distro?

First, accept that no matter what phrase you use — atomic vs. immutable — someone will claim you’re using the wrong term. There’s still disagreement in the tech community about the correct terminology for this type of Linux distro.

That said, for the average consumer (home users — most of you reading this), these types of distros are still “new.” By new, I mean they are still establishing themselves. Having said that, if your overall goal is to have a Linux distro that is rock-solid, automatically updates itself, can automatically recover itself, and you mostly just want a basic system — meaning you primarily plan to browse the web, work with documents, stream movies and music, and print or scan files — then an immutable/atomic distro will be fine for you. You should also be comfortable accepting that most apps will come from the app store (Flatpak) rather than installing them manually.

Yes, you can technically add layers to such distributions and customize them to your heart’s desire. You can geek out just as much as you would on any other system. But understand that this requires extra effort, and it’s generally not the primary focus of these systems. The main goal is for users who want a “set it and forget it” system that just works out of the box with a GUI (graphic user interface)

Assuming you are coming from Microsoft Windows, you should first decide between KDE Plasma and GNOME. I recommend KDE Plasma, as it will be the more visually familiar and include the most easily found, easiest-to-use graphical interface settings and options — keeping everything simple and “point-and-click.” Out of the box, it will look closest to Windows 10 or Windows 7. If you prefer a layout more like Windows 8, while still offering many easy-to-use settings (though fewer than KDE), GNOME would be a better choice. GNOME may also be a better option if you’re using a device with a touchscreen, just as Windows 8 was better suited for touchscreens.

Next, it all comes down to what you're looking for from your system.
