Closed source does not inherently imply better security, it’s just about transparency. Also, everything is open source if you can read assembly and circuit. Building a secure device is achievable, but companies like Fairphone prioritize business goals over rigorous security engineering.

However, Android is also a Linux distribution. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Servers are designed to run certain applications, which means that attack surfaces can be easily reduced. For mobile phones, desktops and laptops, GNU/Linux is much less secure than macOS, iOS or Android. Because of history, ecosystem and people who works on them.
