Big movement forward in general, however, the BIG question is how do you deal with fiat in “banks”? The only downside I see is being a seller and receiving “dirty fiat”. And this happened to various people I know (many times with Revolut) -> flags, delays, explanations, investigations, even freeze.
I got the benefit of zero trust, privacy, on one side. On the other “fiat side” nothing changes and still has same downsides (when receiving fiat -> counterparty risk). To solve the fiat “freezing/investigation” downside there’s honestly just one option (it costs POW - time, effort, physical location, etc..) and that is physical P2P via vexl (nprofile…sy44) . With digital fiat involved it is just a partial solution and it is important to count with “digital fiat” drawbacks.

- Well-prepared and rehearsed multi-agency assault.

- Signal to Russia and China in the form of a “military show of force and intelligence operation.”

- Bukele likely played his part by exchanging roughly 250 Tren de Aragua cartel members for 10 imprisoned US citizens, removing potential US hostage blackmail leverage. This dates back to July 2025 as preparatory steps for successful execution.

- Maduro was offered an exit (and safe haven) but acted cocky, with no contingency plan. He also overestimated the capabilities of Russian and Chinese military defense systems “sold” to Venezuela compared to available US capabilities.

- Maduro underestimated intelligence operators and assets in the country + probable leaks in his closest circles.

- The Cuban regime is in big trouble. Its only real ally was Venezuela, which supplied “free” oil and resources in exchange for medical and military personnel stationed there. Now the Cuban regime will face hard times without regional support, and its other allies are distant and won’t make the difference.

There was not much happening in #bitcoin one year back.

After one year and 10 great bitcoin meetups, #11 on Wednesday set a new standard in a new, bigger venue. Over 150 people attended, strengthening the community foundation for future growth.

It’s all about community—amazing atmosphere, people, speakers, organizers, and making bitcoin accessible to everyone.
