Well, I gained it all back when I moved back to Florida, but it took several years. ;>) The point I was making is that I never realized it was happening or that it could be that simple for me. I'm somewhat older now, so that's it for really simple anymore, but I know that if I watch my diet, don't drink beer, and exercise, I'll take it all off again...

I'm seriously thinking about running a Write Freely instance for myself and friends because it is very easy to set up, but my only gripe is that they don't have any Android apps. How can that be? Why would you create a server instance that only supports Apple devices? It can still be used on the Web, though...

For anyone interested in a mystery. My original American ancestor was named M. Nicar and he immigrated to Norfolk, VA in the late 18th century from Heidelberg, Germany. This is the puzzle. The surname is very rare in the United States and none of us researching it have any idea of where M was originally from because Nicar is not German or Austrian. He's not Asian or Black. I'd like to know if anyone in Europe, Middle East, or North Africa have had any contact with this surname and its possible connection to Germany. Boosts are greatly appreciated.

I felt somewhat the same last Sunday for the Super Bowl party. When I sat down to eat I got the cold sweats from all the activity and the noise around me. And I ate alone for that very reason. Which is why I usually drink like a fish at these things, but I hadn't this time. I did all the frying, though, which I was very comfortable with. I forget who the Arch Linux expert out there is, but I can't get wireguard to resolve DNS at all. And my laptop has the exact same setup, and it works fine. I have tried everything I can think of or look up. If anybody out there can help me shed some light on this, I'm using a ProtonVPN config. Thanks! And a boost would be welcome if you're amenable... ;>)

Isn't UEFI the default writing mode now? Surely Fedora has a legacy image you can download. Also, I'd use Balena Etcher to write the image. It is basically foolproof. This is also a very useful tool:
