But for the life of me I don’t understand why anyone would want to see a fictionalized movie about it. Don’t we all already know all the stories?

I was happy to have my public pool season tag. Went there every day. 12-5pm. Rode my bike. No money for the snack stand either. Just happy to be there.

A pedicab in NYC is easily the least enjoyable and most stressful way to get around the city. I did it once because I couldn’t get a cab and needed to get to Penn Station. I got there in one piece, but I’d say this was due to luck more than anything else.

In New Orleans, on the other hand, I found them quite enjoyable. Probably didn’t hurt that I was never sober. I also used them a few times in Austin, TX during SXSW, which was a hell of a lot safer than an electric scooter.

I guess I’m going to upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro Max when it comes out—solely for the new camera. It’s 48MP, shoots RAW, and will have some new features conducive to shooting portraits. That’s worth the investment, for me. Saves me the trouble of breaking out my Canon 5DMIII. It’s not the same, of course, but it’s gotten pretty damn close for casual family purposes, and it’s already in my pocket.

I’ll be curious to try to print a 16x20” from it and see what it can do.

I do not look back on school with any fondness. My grandkids are all about ready to start and they’re mostly all quite excited. I have to remind myself that I’m not supposed to feel bad for them.

It’s hard being a kid sometimes, but mostly they’re living the dream. They’re all well cared for and loved. Plus they live at the beach for Christ’s sake.
