So, apparently younger generations don't have as much generational awareness, because they have access to sooo much more content.

I'm an elder Millenial, and I grew up watching what was on TV, and then whatever VHS/DVDs my parents deemed worthy of purchasing. So, the things I would watch would be newer movies and TV shows, of course, but then also older movies and cartoons, as well. I had a larger range of social references, just because I was plumbing from a shallower well. It seems like it shouldn't work that way, but new content is being made at a unprecedented rate. Not just major studios, and Streaming Services, but things like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitch. I might watch a Midnight movie from the 70's, because that was all that was on, but younger generations never need to. There's just an endless supply of content from whatever you're into at the moment.

Okay, polarizing opinion, I adore Lwaxana Troi. She's generally treated as an annoyance, by basically everyone, but she's probably not only one of the most well-rounded individuals in the Federation, she's also incredibly powerful. But my favorite thing is how Picard reacts to her.

Just because someone is a cop or served in the military doesn't make them a bad guy. It is illogical to assume that just because someone ends up working in a corrupt system that they are corrupt. There are a million reasons people can work a job. This is akin to telling someone who works in a retail store that they are a responsible for Unregulated Capitalism. Believe me, we want decent people in these places. Police and military aren't going to disappear just because we don't like it. Creating enemies of people, because of circumstances is not only a shit thing to do, it polarizes people against our goals. We remember the people are kind to us. Alright, I have what science would call big ole titties, and as I've aged I just have way less patience with feeling uncomfortable at all. Because of this I rarely wear underwire bras anymore, but someone will always tell me I just haven't tried the right bra or haven't worn the right size. Here's the thing though, I HAVE. I've spent hundreds of dollars finding the right size and best quality, and guess what, wearing them more than a few hours still gets uncomfortable. Still, for years I felt like I owed people seeing my Tits conform to some kind of standard that's not even based on real Boobs. I feel like so much of this anti-vaccine rhetoric is based in ableism and self hatred. Many of the conditions that are attributed to vaccines by anti-vaxxers are often genetic. Let's say the big one, "Vaccines are giving kids autism." Autism has a large genetic component, estimates between 40%-80% are common. I have to wonder how much of it is wanting something to blame when they have trouble accepting their child as is, as well as having trouble accepting themselves as possibly having autistic traits. Maybe they are afraid of being blamed for not being good enough or healthy enough to have a "perfect" child, and it's easier to blame something completely unrelated.

I used to work at 5 am. I would get up at 4:30 am, to go to work, and was only ever late a few times due to other circumstances. I don't know if I could do it anymore, and it required prep, having everything laid out and ready to go, but I did it for years.

For hubs, getting ready quick is a no go, transitions are hard for him, so I bake in an hour of getting ready if he's going.

Early in our marriage, I told my husband I wanted to get up early, and work on the garden before it got too hot. This is when I learned how different people's definitions of a word are. To me early meant before 6 am, so I woke him up to get to work, and he stared at me, eyes half open, like I'd gone insane. He insisted that this wasn't early it was still night. Apparently, getting up early on a weekend was any time before noon. I thought this was ridiculous, but he refused to get out of bed, so I got a hoe, and used it rather loudly and violently by the window where he was sleeping; yes, petty, I know. He eventually gave up on sleep, and came out and helped me. Over the years, we have compromised on what early is, although we still disagree on what getting ready really quick means.

How about you all, what is your early? How quick do you get ready? Have you ever had a time related misunderstanding?

I got as much of my cooking done as I could ahead of time, I've popped a gummie, and I'm watching Acolyte. We are having a Mexican feast later, birria, fish tacos, grilled chicken, refried beans, Mexican rice, slaw, fire roasted salsa from my garden, guacamole, corn ribs, grilled peppers and onion, and watermelon. Friends are gathering around, including dog friends, should be a nice time!
