Gibt es Gebärdendolmetscher*innen im Raum #dusseldorf, die kurzfristig am Samstag, den 11.07. beim Sozialprotest unterstützen und die Redebeiträge begleiten könnten? Geplant sind sieben bis acht Beiträge von je ca. 5 Minuten Dauer, hinzu kämen Anmoderationen und organisatorische Hinweise. Die Demo beginnt um 14 Uhr.

This is an incredibly specific request, but I'm hoping for some Fediverse magic:

Does anyone here own a Nintendo Hands Free Controller AND could take a photo of it for a CC-BY-SA 4.0 licensed OER project?

We can't use any copyrighted materials in our presentations, so official PR photos – which are the only ones I can find online – are not an option, unfortunately.

Any help would be much appreciated, boosts included!

#Trans people in Germany need your help. Our government is seriously considering to create a list of people who changed their name/gender under the recent self-identification law. This is obviously a terrible idea, especially considering the increasing popularity of the far-right party. The petition linked below would at least force the government to discuss this issue and reconsider... if we managed to reach 30.000 signatures within the next eleven days.

I recently learned that apparently living in Germany is not required to sign, so I kindly ask you to help us (and ideally share this petition with your peers). To make the process easier for you, I took screenshots of the website and translated everything. If there's anything else you don't understand, feel free to reach out to me!

I thought it might be interesting for some of you to see a few steps of the #embroidery process, as well — especially because it's blatantly obvious here that I didn't really know what I was doing and made a LOT of rookie mistakes:

Zwei Bitten aus aktuellem Anlass:

1) Wenn ihr mit der Bahn fahrt, prüft vorab, ob der Ruhebereich der richtige Ort für euch und eure Bedürfnisse ist.

2) Wenn jemand euch darum bittet, leiser zu sein (und z.B. zum telefonieren das Abteil zu verlassen), reagiert nicht aggressiv und abweisend, sondern zeigt Verständnis - nicht nur, aber ganz besonders, wenn diese Person darauf hinweist, aufgrund einer Beeinträchtigung akustische Reize nicht gut filtern zu können.

Ich musste gerade eine extreme Form von Täter-Opfer-Umkehr erleben, wurde beschuldigt, auf Menschen "rumzuhacken", selbst als Problem identifiziert und von Mitreisenden ausgegrenzt. Nur, weil ich - freundlich, verständnisvoll und mit Hinweis auf meine Sensibilität - darum gebeten habe, sich an die Regeln zu halten. Das ist ein, mit Verlaub, beschissenes Gefühl.

Ich habe am Samstag bei einer Rubbellos-Aktion zwei Freikarten für die nächste "Yours Truly"-Drag-Show in Düsseldorf gewonnen und möchte diese gerne weitergeben an Menschen, die sich den Eintritt sonst eher nicht leisten können (bevorzugt junge Queers und Angehörige anderer marginalisierter Gruppen).

Eine Begründung ist nicht nötig, eure finanziellen Verhältnisse gehen ja niemanden etwas an. Schreibt mir einfach eine kurze Privatnachrichten und ich lasse dann den Zufall entscheiden, wer die Tickets bekommt.

In less pleasant news: Today I was refused access to an ATM at a local bank because of my FFP2 mask.

Mentioning health issues and the mask being a necessary protective measure did not help. Since the employees insisted on security concerns, I offered to briefly take the mask off and turn to one if the security cameras (this time as well as in the future), but they still demanded I'd either keep it off or leave.

So I left.

(They told me I was explicitly forbidden to use any indoor machines and only allowed to withdraw money at exterior ATMs from now on. As far as I know, there's not a single one in my entire neighborhood.)
