Bucky update: he's feeling much better. It was an abscessed anal gland (ewww) that the vet tech cleared out. He is on pain meds and antibiotics. Thank you all for the good juju, it worked!

Me update: I have an MRI scheduled for the end of the month for my hip. The doctor will call a week later for next steps. He also called in a script for steroids that I'll pick up tomorrow.

#Garden update! I have harvested a total of 8 delicious cherry tomatoes, I have about 12 bunches of green ones still growing. The mystery tomato plant (I got it at a mutual aid fundraiser and it was a volunteer tomato plant from someone's raised beds) has 3 palm-sized tomatoes that are light green with dark green stripes. I'm interested to see what they turn out to be.

My carrot greens were turning brown so I plucked them, and they are tiny but very sweet! We already ate them. They were about thumb-length.

My bell pepper plant died. This was a longshot plant after my cat had eaten all the leaves off it before I had a change to plant it. The dill died, I think I overwatered it.

The chives are still going strong as is the lettuce. I didn't harvest either today as they need a little more growth to be able to be a salad.

I'm allergic to amoxicillin, well really all the cillin antibiotics. Of course the vet gave Zoie amoxicillin for her ear infection to give her orally twice a day for 10 days. Garden update. The tomatoes have gone wild, even after I tied them up, so I'll have to go to the garden center this weekend for a cage for them. The dill, behind them, is turning yellow which makes me think I'm over-watering them. The chives are there, but have been slowed in growing by the tomatoes which helps me by getting ahead of them blooming.

On the right, the lettuce is looking good. I harvested some yesterday when I took these pics. The marjoram is flowering, so I'm gonna cut it way back this weekend and dry it. The carrots and radishes seem to be growing well. The bell pepper plant was transplanted but seems to have withered; oh well, it was free and Brienne the cat had chewed off all the leaves before it was planted with the tomatoes.

So at work we're revising a research course we all teach and are having weekly meetings to do this. Yesterday's meeting, the person leading the meeting took our submitted draft learning goals, fed them through AI "to synthesize and consolidate them", and gave them back to us. It was gibberish. I'm looking at the handout now, thinking that it might've been an afternoon slump, but no, they don't make any sense and the all center AI, which is the opposite of research and analysis that we'll be teaching.

Garden update: the carrots are growing their greens really well. The radishes seem to have given up. The marjoram looks like it's gonna flower so I cut it way back and am drying a bunch of it; hopefully the cats won't get to it. The lettuce is bouncing back nicely; I'll have enough for a salad this weekend.

In the second pot, the tomatoes are out of control! The chives are under control thanks to putting them into dinner every night; I've learned chives go with everything! The dill also got a trim and is also hanging up for drying.

Just got back from orthopedic urgent care. I sprained my foot (on Monday). :bun_fliprev: It's actually a lower ankle sprain, but not my Achilles, thank goodness. He did see from the x-rays that there is a thickening of my Achilles where I had my surgery, which explains the swelling he saw there.

He told me to stay off it as much as I can, take Tylenol, elevate it, ice it, and use compression.

On the way in to work this morning, my right foot rolled in (to the left) when I took a step and I felt a pop on the top of my foot. No big deal, that's just exactly how I tore my Achilles 2.5 years ago...

Anyway, I just walked down the block for coffee, and coming back the whole right side and right top of my foot is achy. I took some ibuprofen when I got back to my office and just looked and it's bruised across the top and side.

Guess I'm going to orthopedic urgent care tomorrow. Luckily and funnily this is the same foot I tore my Achilles on, so I have the orthopedic boot already if needed.

Okay, here's my tentative garden strategy. I talked to my landlord and can only garden in pots that are moveable and don't block the water meter in front of our unit.

I plan to go to the local store this weekend to pick up:
* 2 14-inch diameter pots (one for lettuce and spinach, the other for carrots and radishes)
* 1 12-inch diameter pot for cucumbers
* Planting soil for the pots
* Gardening gloves
* Trowel

Now the determination is do I go with seeds or seedlings? And when do I start planting? We're in Columbus, Ohio, hardiness zone 6b and everything I've read says start planting in March or April but no reason why.

Any help is appreciated! #gardening

if she's not tolerating the cone you can try putting her in a baby onesie. My Zoie cat was a size 3-6 months. By fastening the tail to one side that will leave enough of a gap so she can potty.

I made Mac n cheese from scratch. I've done this once before, 16 months ago. The reason being it takes 2 hours and overheats me and makes my legs hurt and dirties all my pots. But it's really fucking good. We did half cheddar and half emmental. Now excuse me while I digest the 2 full bowls I ate.
