Then starts to ask #silly questions, how much return will I be getting, where I said, how am I supposed to know? I don’t care how much return. He says why then buy bitcoin, I said because it’s the #best asset out there. Then he waits for me to say a figure. I say I don’t know? 100%? 200%? He says this is for sure a #scam as how can it make this much. I said who said over one year? I mean over a 20 year period. lol then had to #explain #stocks, and #investing #strategies to him. <br/><br/>Anyways, it was #insane and not #funny, very #draining like I’m some sort of #thief and #criminal. I then had to give the phone to an employee at the branch where he was instructed to follow a #protocol where I had to watch a #video about how crypto and bitcoin will potentially make me #lose all my #money. Then was told the bank would also need to get the #police to come and ask me if anyone’s forced me to buy crypto for them. Once all logged, then they will #unlock my account.<br/><br/>I ask the employee; what if I don’t #transfer the money to the #exchange? And just leave it, would I still get access to my money? He said well actually the bank is providing a #service and we don’t actually #own the money, but I’m sure if you’d #decline the transfer they’ll unlock it as it won’t be going to the exchange anymore.<br/><br/>We call the fraud department again. This time luckily it’s a person with sense. He determines I’m #legit and unlocks it for me as he knows I am #knowledgable about my investments. Spent 100s of hours on #studying bitcoin, I built my first #Lightning node, lost a bunch of money experimenting but I learned a ton. Kept building more nodes, full #bitcoin #nodes, switched on some #btc #miners. I’m way more technically comfortable now than I ever thought I’d be. Linux, networking, hardware, power efficiency (I guess attending the ethical hacking cert training (CEH) helped comprehend a lot of this as well)… Bitcoin turned me into someone who can actually build and run real infrastructure. The best bit, all done on my own money, my own time. #Investing in #education is never a loss.<br/><br/>The Bitcoin price? Yeah it goes up and down like a rollercoaster, but what new #asset doesn’t? It’s only 16 years old! Here’s the thing most people still don’t get. The #volatility only hurts you if you’re treating Bitcoin like a #stock to flip. If you actually adopt it as your base layer money and just hold the asset, the day-to-day price noise becomes background static. The people who end up wealthy in this space are the ones who stop looking at the chart every five minutes and just #HODL. Assets are retained, not traded.<br/><br/>Seven years in, I’m calmer about money, technically sharper than I’ve ever been, and sitting on an asset that keeps proving itself while everything else gets debased. That’s the real “life-changing” part. Not the #Lambo memes (but the memes do make me laugh haha!!).<br/><br/>Did you know…<br/><br/>- There will only ever be 21,000,000 Bitcoin. That’s it.
