When I was a child in France, Japan defined some of the youth culture thanks to anime: a large part of the anime series we had on TV were from Japan.

Maybe Asian youth culture was always there but not evenly distributed and less visible than USian and European youth culture?

I used to live in the constituency next door and I generally agree with this statement: "Reform lost because it is a very left wing seat." It's a very worker friendly seat and they despise the Tories. I believe that some of the swing to Reform is a result of people falling for the "man of the people" lie. To beat Reform, that lie and the fact that Reform is Tory++ needs to be exposed.

As someone who benefitted from free education, I'll point out that making it free only makes the system less bad, it doesn't address the root cause.

As long as achieving good grades is seen as essential for success, students will focus on it. For them to learn, you need to offer a way forward to those with mediocre grades.

As I've recently moved countries, it's time for an updated #introduction. I am French, I spent half my life in the UK and I recently moved to Spain. My feed may feature posts in several languages.

I love living in a place where I can cycle everywhere. I´m a fan of urban wildlife, green spaces and sustainable infrastructure.

I like indie comics, eclectic music, home grown software, train and tall ship travel, and home cooked food. And wine, I'm French, we like wine. And smelly cheese.

Incidentally that's one of the reasons I just left London: without a car, public transport was the only choice because cycling in West London is not an option if you want to stay out of A&E.

Now in Valencia, I can choose between public transport and cycling for everything I do and I'm much happier that way.

The big flooded area is the Albufera national park around the lagoon which is not built up and acts exactly as it should as a flood plain. It could have been a lot worse if that area hadn't been a protected nature reserve!

On the train between Paris and Barcelona. We just crossed into Spain: no passport control, no delay. The contrast between this and the Eurostar journey yesterday, that started with a long queue, security and passport control, is striking.
