Another type of farming to me and my colleagues

This was our first time seeing a hydroponic fodder unit.

They showed us chambers where plants are grown without soil. It was interesting to learn that the system waters plants automatically through small pipes and can also control temperature using an AC system that brings air inside.

It was a very interesting learning experience for us.

Just imagine eating #organicfoods straight from your own garden. Today, I tasted our own potatoes, and honestly they were so delicious.

They are not fully ready for harvest yet, but at least no one in the Eco Youths Network Uganda (npub1d38…pus2) group can sleep hungry. We have a place to learn grow and always find something to eat.

I stand with #Rwanda during this painful time of remembrance. This period, known as Icyunamo or Kwibuka, brings back the deep wounds of April 1994, when so many innocent lives were taken during the genocide against the Tutsi.

It hurts even more knowing that many members of my own family were among those lost. I never had the chance to know them, to hear their voices or to share in their lives but today, I remember them with all my heart. They are not forgotten.🕯️

I even led a club that hosted visitors who came to see our work. That experience shaped me. Is it wrong to show the truth of the lives we are trying to save? These are children we find standing in dirty water, trying to fish instead of going to school, barefoot, hungry, and forgotten. In many Ugandan communities, this is normal life. Some of us at EYN lived this pain ourselves. That is why we fight every day to provide food, free training, skills, and hope so communities can stand strong, sustainably, and break this cycle forever.
