But that is usually due to physical, legal, or informational constraints, which can be overcome with software and good design.

It would be good if there were more solutions with better designed information of lightning and ecash providers with automatic selecting of the custodians for the new people to balance the load to the less used ones or a more appropriate custodian for the user.

Maybe if someone doesn't have zaps set up then the zap button can open their Payment target screen. And then the payment target screen can also open the wallet like Silberengel (nprofile…n0es) got working with cake wallet. Lots of people are trying out Monero for the first time with the payment targets and cake wallet swap.

I want to zap more but the nwc wallets feel too janky to trust with more value. The zaps seem to be working sometimes, but it always feels like a gamble if it's going to work or not. The Amethyst wallet display screen makes it feel especially janky where the wallets time out all the time. I've only seen the wallet screen load the wallet amount and transactions correctly like once or twice out of dozens of tries over the past few weeks, waiting for minutes each time. I have tried minibits and their mint and I have also tried with ecash app wallet and it has the same issues with different mints and relays. I have Tor on and I've tried with various configurations of internal, orbot, vpn mode.

Its also hard to find more nwc wallets. For example Minibits doesn't list nwc as a feature when searching on zap store. The whole ecosystem needs more work.

But in 2026, surveillance is everywhere. Centralized platforms like X leave IP trails, transaction logs, and public shouts. One wrong move, and it's backlash from family, followers, or worse.

Nostr flips the script. It's decentralized social with built-in privacy. Verify recipients via npub keys, no fakes. Then zap (send Lightning sats) anonymously: no receipts, no profile links. Pair with Cashu ecash for blind-signed payments, the mint sees value, not details. It's resistance tech: fund shelters, faiths, or fights quietly. Mobile-friendly, setup in minutes.

Here's your no-BS guide for Android (Amethyst focus). iOS? Swap to Primal (premium proxy), Spring, or Damus, flows match, notes added. Use Minibits for ecash, NWC for connections, privacy relays, and anon zaps. One wallet funds multiple IDs.

Quick Setup: Private Anonymous Zaps

1. Grab the Apps
- **Minibits** (Cashu wallet): GitHub releases or F-Droid (Android). Free, open-source privacy beast.

- Why? Blind signatures = cash-like anonymity. Mint checks value, blind to spends.

- **Amethyst** (Nostr client): Play Store or GitHub. iOS: **Primal** (premium cache), **Spring**, or **Damus** (App Store).

- All handle NWC wallets + anon zaps.

2. Minibits Setup
- Open, create wallet. Backup seed (pen and paper, offline).

- Fund anonymously:

- Mint invoice (e.g., wallet.minibits.cash, nutstash.app): Tap +, pay from no-KYC Lightning (Boltz/Sideshift ATM conversion).

- Friend sends ecash token (QR/share Lightning address).

- P2P buy (HodlHodl/RoboSats), route to Minibits.

- Stay off-chain, no ID links.

3. Nostr Identity
- Amethyst/iOS client: Settings > Accounts > Add (or import npub/nsec).

- New keys for burners; main for trusted.

- Pro: Multiple accounts in-app, public vs. private. Switch seamless.

4. Link Minibits via NWC
- Amethyst: Settings > Wallet > Connect > NWC. Copy string (nostrwalletconnect://...).

- Minibits: Settings > Nostr Wallet Connect > Add > Paste > Approve.

- Zaps now draw ecash privately, no on-chain.

- iOS: Wallet/Payments section—same NWC.

- Hack: One Minibits fuels all accounts/apps. Compartmentalize lives.

5. Privacy Relays
- Add in Amethyst: Settings > Relays > Add. Mix for speed/search/privacy:

- wss://relay.damus.io (fast reads, public).

- wss://nos.lol (paid, no-logs).

- wss://relay.snort.social (search king).

- wss://purplepag.es (paid privacy).

- wss://eden.nostr.land (uptime champ).

- Set home relay for writes.

- Android extra: Citrus app > Add wss://localhost:8080 local data, no IP leak.

- iOS: Primal > Settings > Privacy > Enhanced (proxy hides IP).

6. Proxy Boost (Recommended)
- Primal premium? Settings > My Cache > Copy URL (wss://cache1.primal.net/your-secret).

- Amethyst: Settings > Relays > Proxy Relay > Paste > "All through proxy".

- Traffic via Primal, relays blind to your IP.

- iOS: Primal's Enhanced does it auto.

7. Zap Anonymously
- Find post/profile (search/follows).

- Long-press ⚡.

- Pick:

- **Public**: Profile shows, receipt public.

- **Private**: Encrypted, only sender/receiver see.

- **Anonymous**: No receipt, no trace. Lightning onions path.

- Amount (e.g., 2100 sats ~$2), from ecash.

- Max anon: Burner npub + Cashu + anonymous.

8. Pro Tips
- Multi-ID: Add accounts, same NWC—ecash pool for all.

- Exit to Monero: Redeem ecash > Lightning > FixedFloat (no-KYC XMR swap).

- Test: Self-zap anon to burner, check no sender.

- Secure: VPN/Tor downloads in risky spots. Guard NWC/cache.

10-15 mins to freedom. Nostr beats centralized BS, proxied metadata minimal. In Denmark/EU? Anon tech dodges data laws. Share to empower.

Questions? Zap me on Nostr or X.

https://linkfork.io/danishcrypto

#Nostr #Privacy #Zaps #CryptoResistance #FreedomTech

Telegraph post

https://telegra.ph/Anonymous-Zaps-on-Nostr-01-16

      In reply to nevent1q…mvlg
_________________________

❤️🫂zap store!

At first I didn't even remember if there was a warning, but then I do remember there is actually the warning! But people have been *conditioned* that warnings are not optional, that they just have to accept the warning anyway, so they just forget it and click yes anyway! But with the Zapstore warning about the app being untrusted, there is actually a path to trust the signer! No one is conditioned to expect this, so they SEE the warning but they don't even NOTICE it!

Just like the psychological study of people asked to watch a video and count the number of times people pall basket balls and they DON'T EVEN SEE the GORILLA walking between everyone on the video and they DON'T EVEN BELIEVE IT until they're told about it and they see the video again!

But this is a great opportunity to improve!

You can't force the users to read, but you can make the warning bigger and bolder, and give them more explanation about what the trust means, and how to build your web of trust to configure your nsec and examine the profile of the person that signed the app.

Current Zapstore: "Trust this app? (App) is published by (npub)" ( you cannot click the npub to check them first, you have to go back first)
Normal user: "Yeah, I guess... it's not like I have ever had a choice in my life... Yes, just trust the app and install..." 😔

Future Zapstore: "Trust this app? (App) is published by (npub) You haven't trusted this profile yet! Check out their profile to determine if you trust them." (Make sure it's not a scam!) Or something like that. And you can click the profile to go straight there. Also the profile page could show the npub reports (like Amethyst has) of scam/etc reports ( global if you don't have a nsec set up, or trusted reports if you do, like Amethyst ).
