I think I was around 3-4mm. With this amount of baking powder they don&#39;t really rise. I&#39;m not sure if one should put in more, because the original raising agent was deerhorn salt, and technically one is supposed to double the amount if replacing it with baking powder. However, that ended up with a ridiculous amount of baking powder so I just eyeballed an estimate of how much this amount of dough would normally take. <br/><br/>I&#39;d suggest testing out the thickness as well. The dough is nicest to handle in batches anyway, so baking just a few at a time in the beginning is easy to do. At this point it will look like you&#39;ve made a horrible mistake. <br/>Add the butter and sugar, mix. <br/>Add the rest of the flour. Mix some more. At this point you will be convinced you&#39;ve made a horrible mistake. <br/>The dough will be strong. If you don&#39;t have a stand mixer, it may be best to tip it all onto a counter and knead it into a uniform dough by hand. <br/>If the dough doesn&#39;t come together, add some water. I needed to add about ½dl. <br/><br/>Roll the dough out into a sheet. Sprinkle on toppings. I used salt+rosemary, salt+herb mix, just salt, and cheese. <br/>Bake in 225C. For the light finish, 7min. Of these, the oat flakes are soaked overnight in milk. The result was a dough that felt nearly like modelling clay, and was surprisingly easy to handle. <br/><br/>Interestingly for biscuits, the recipe called for no egg. <br/><br/>I ended up tweaking the recipe a bit, and guesstimating the baking powder amount. In addition, I added extra salt or other flavourings on top of the biscuits before baking. <br/><br/>And I have to say, despite of having my misgivings during the process, they turned out great. I do think I underbaked them, but I forgot the recipe mentioned &#34;golden&#34; and just decided they tasted done at this stage. <br/>They&#39;re quite chewy, which I like, and surprisingly sturdy.
