I found this list by Tael. I deleted proton, from his list of bad companies, because proton has owned up to it''s mistake and promised to better vet who's videos they put an ad into. I don't know what to believe about them at this point. There's also a video bumping around with protons CEO being interviewed on a fash channel. (about privacy)

"independence" in the context of what is beign discussed here, is a trauma based myth
it is also an Illusion of men, that lye to themselves about their dependency on women. A myth of strength. A patriarchal myth. Created by trauma in childhood, and later part of toxic maskulinity.
many of us have not experienced inter-dependency as connectedness and bliss. We carry scars of lack, dangerous enmeshment and powerlessness that we need to heal on our way to becoming full members of an interconnected community we can depend on. Dependency is deeply emotional. Realizing and creating a healthy web around us is healing.

I am wondering, reading cory doctorovs newest article about #fascism as a result of austerity and missing public services. what role #feminism plays in this. Or more specifically: the decline in willingness to provide unpaid services, emotional support, security and psychological status/feelings of power and satisfaction to men. There seem to be a lot of similarity in the experience of someone who loses healthcare and a man whos emotional care and daily unpaid services provided by women is withdrawn from him.
Pluralistic thinks it is" reasonable to assume, that people react that way. " ( with fascism) Well "people" is not a very sharp word to use here. Why are women not reacting that way to the many services, securities, comforts and support that have always been missing from their lives? I keep coming back to a realization, that any analysis of "people" and society, be it psychological, social, or political, must take the category of gender, must take the underlying patriarchy into account, in order to accurately describe reality

There was the same situation a few weeks ago,then freetube brought out a beta update, but it only lasted for a week.
I spose YT is very active in trying to inhibit them right now.

Most of our messenger testing time was spent on an XMPP server based on Prosody, which, according to our research at the time, was considered a beginner-friendly XMPP server service. Although the initial setup was indeed very simple and I found reading up on the relevant XEP extensions late into the night quite interesting, problems arose during productive operation that did not inspire confidence in the system:

Lost messages: Messages were lost in a non-reproducible manner, were marked as “undelivered” (but were still transmitted), or vice versa: were transmitted according to the client, but were never actually delivered. We usually only noticed this indirectly when users in MUCs responded to something that was incoherent from the perspective of individual users.
Unreliable synchronization: Less frequent, but also annoying, was the unreliable synchronization of messages across multiple clients (mobile/desktop).
Catastrophic client situation: However, the final reason for reorienting ourselves toward a federal messenger system was the catastrophic client situation on iOS at the time: Since the “hard core” of our testers only used Android themselves, we only knew Astrachat and ChatSecure as iOS clients, whereby only the latter is free software and we therefore recommended it to the first iOS users who were willing to switch. Here, however, message exchange worked mainly in MUCs.

So after reading this I thought, well, everything that we like about signal can be turned into a federated messenger. Why is nobody doing it?
I gave me at least a little bit of hope that someone or, some group will.
I believe the need for privacy is getting more urgent by the minute.. The situation has changed quite a bit, since that decision at signals was made. We need a signal -quality messenger as part of the fediverse
