VERY PLEASED!

I offered my elderly Dane, Pooch some brown rice boiled with bacon grease - she turned it down.
I offered her some of her dry kibble - she also turned that down.
I offered her my dinner consisting of about 16 oz of lasagna and she wolfed that RIGHT DOWN!

SO HAPPY she finally ATE something - it's been TWO DAYS.
I got her to drink some water earlier - about a quart split between two servings --she was thirsty.

When the kid was here cutting my lawn, she actually got up with my assistance and WALKED to the backdoor to see who was in her yard. - she couldn't go down the stairs, but she paused and looked around outside for about five minutes before her back legs gave out again.

HOPEFULLY, that lasagna will give her back some strength and she'll be able to go outside to pee and poop tomorrow.

I got back from the grocery store with enough ingredients to fix either one GIANT lasagna or two small lasagnas (both in the same size baking dish, just thicker)

I'm glad I went for the smaller one 'cause I just had a piece and am stuffed -- regular old four noodle layer -- nice knowing I have enough to make another entire lasagna next weekend.

I'm gonna make some little lady a happy wife someday.
I grew up with Mom doing all the cooking -- Dad never even grilled much -- I grilled. All the stuff she taught me over the years, and with all my restaurant experience, creating new menu items, etc...

Pooch fell down the stairs again. She made it to the last four steps, so it wasn't much of a tumble... more of a slide, really. Strength in her back legs is almost gone.

Got her on her little double, gel-foam bed downstairs and making her some brown rice with bacon grease -hopefully, she'll eat the whole thing and recover enough to get those legs working again.

You'd think, after FORTY YEARS of doing my own laundry, cleaning my own home, paying my own bills, cooking my food, having owned two successful businesses, and entertained thousands when I was doing theatre and karaoke I'd treat myself better... think MORE of myself... take some satisfaction knowing I've DONE THE ADULT THING and been successful at it.
