It&#39;s true that 85 dBA is a common figure used in ordinances, but this figure is A-weighted, which means its a different scale than the SPL meter app shows in the video which is &#34;Z&#34; weighting, which means unweighted, and also adds another level of untrustworthiness to the figure, as there is no cutoff for frequencies outside of the range of human hearing....meaning this meter could be reading sounds that we cannot even hear, skewing the results further.
