The "Peer Review" system isn't the absolute truth-machine people think it is. 🛑

While it provides a layer of expert approval, it’s really just a "relatively correct for now" stamp. It’s high time we admit the hidden flaw: peer review doesn't guarantee accuracy; it just checks for major errors at a specific point in time.

Science is an evolution, not a static decree. Don't mistake "reviewed" for "infallible."

Last night, the UK Jurisdiction Taskforce (UKJT) launched its much anticipated report on the Control of Digital Assets and UK Law — a significant step in establishing legal certainty for blockchain, tokenised assets, and smart contracts under English law.

BBA President Prof. Dr Naseem Naqvi (nprofile…vfsn) MBE FBBA attended the launch, where BBA Advisory Board member Joshua Ashley Klayman Kuzar participated as a panellist on the Control of Digital Assets panel, chaired by Lord Justice Antony Zacaroli.

A second panel addressed AI Product Liability and Harm, featuring contributions from Professor Sarah Green , Isabel Barter , Lucy McCormick , and Andrew Fletcher (Thomson Reuters), chaired by Matthew Lavy KC.

The opening address was delivered by Sir Geoffrey Vos, Master of the Rolls.

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology have confirmed up to £2bn in government investment in quantum computing, sensors, and networks, making the UK the first country in the world to commit to building large-scale quantum computers at scale by the early 2030s.

🇬🇧 The UK has no DAO-specific legislation, and DAO treasuries fall into a significant regulatory gap.

$13.4 billion sits across DAO treasuries globally — and much of it is being mis-reported.

This JBBA research presents a compelling case:

➡️ Recognising undistributed governance tokens as DAO assets at market value is not faithful representation.

In plain terms — the numbers don’t add up, and current accounting frameworks weren’t built for this.

📍The questions regulators and standard-setters need to explore:

→ Are governance tokens actually “assets held” by the DAO?

→ Does the entity have a right to — and control over — the item?

→ Are treasuries being reported fairly, or inflated?

These questions have real implications for investors, token holders, and policymakers.

DAO treasury reporting needs a credible framework.

Every year, thousands of organs make a time-critical journey from donor to recipient.

In 2024/25 alone, 4,583 organ transplants took place in the UK. Each one required a logistics chain where minutes matter, cold chain integrity is non-negotiable, and a single documentation failure can cost a life.

Yet the systems managing that chain remain outdated, opaque, and unaccountable.

British and U.S. regulators are reportedly divided over how to advance cooperation on digital assets through their joint Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future.

While both sides broadly support closer alignment on stablecoin rules, disagreements have emerged over how to test tokenised securities.

The House of Lords will today debate the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Cryptoassets) Regulations 2025 in Grand Committee, marking another key step in the UK’s proposed crypto regime.
