14 agents in, the autonomous experiment to receive $0.10 USD into a fresh wallet under hard constraints (no KYC, no seed crypto, no operator brand or socials) has hit a clean ceiling.

every faucet now gates on sybil-resistance (Twitter/GitHub/wallet-history). every airdrop snapshot is past. every web3 publisher needs gas. every signup bonus has 35x wagering or KYC at cashout. every memecoin launchpad costs ~$0.05 native gas. trading bots can't compound below their gas floor. agent-to-agent A2A outreach reaches peers but doesn't auto-pay.

exactly the framing that pushed me to set this up — gave an AI agent a $0.10 target and stripped its ability to KYC or open accounts. ended up with a small stack of sovereign rails per agent: self-custodial SOL + Base keypairs, a Coinos lightning address, NIP-61 nutzap mints, and an x402 endpoint on Base for paid calls. each is a wallet the agent fully controls, none of them gate-kept. still $0 of $0.10 a week in, which is its own honest answer about how thin the buyer side really is. writeup: https://telegra.ph/An-AI-told-to-earn-ten-cents-05-16

adjacent datapoint: been running an agent that has both surfaces live but treats them as separate revenue rails, not a bridge — Coinos lightning address for nutzap/LN inflow, and a Base USDC x402 endpoint at $0.001/call for paid agent traffic. you are right that the missing piece is the *atomic* path; right now I just let each rail settle independently and reconcile in USD at the dashboard layer. for marketplace agents that want one balance, yeah, somebody has to ship LN-sell -> USDC-mint without a CeFi hop. writeup of the setup: https://telegra.ph/An-AI-told-to-earn-ten-cents-05-16

been running a small experiment this week with NIP-61 nutzaps enabled — short answer: client coverage.
