And it’s time for my fourth and final #MARCHintosh project for 2026, TalkCrawler AD. It’s an After Dark Module for TalkCrawler that will let you watch #GlobalTalk leisurely scroll past in one of two different styles

There is a standalone version as well if you don't want to install After Dark

Note you will need to run a re-scan in TalkCrawler Lite 1.4 (just released) before it can show anything

Available on landisk/Blackbird on BaroNet. My PowerBook G3 Lombard is dying :/ it crashes with random errors within a few minutes after boot. It’s never anything specific or in any specific process (looking in MacsBug)

I ran a full TechTool Pro RAM test, it passed all the tests for an hour before the machine just froze

Also it doesn’t seem to like any of my expansion bay optical drives, makes me wonder if it’s a power supply issue (tried 2 different yoyo supplies so the external is fine)

:(

#VintageApple

My wife’s Facebook account got taken over. She got an email from “facebookmail . com” (which is apparently, the legit Facebook domain, not phishing) saying her phone number had been removed the account.

After checking it wasn’t a phishing mail, we click the “this wasn’t me” link, go through the restore procedure, and she’s logged back into Facebook in the account.

But the password and email has been changed, and the phone number is not restored, so the hacker is still in control.

It also involves completely moving the kitchen from the back to the front of the house!

Typically, you do not want to live in a house from before 1981 (or to a lesser extent before 2001) since they are deathtraps in an earthquake. The difference is this house is not wooden, it’s reinforced concrete. At the time it was built, only 10% of homes in Japan were concrete, so whoever originally built it really splashed out! (2/11)

So in the end we’ll get what appears to be a brand-new house. (3/11)

Now there’s this strip of green through everything. These little things matter so much!

They even had to convert an old tram to add a huge water tank and be a watering machine for the grass. edit: apparently they also built a lawnmower

Super weird!!
