We sat down with Rob Clarkson, co-founder and CTO of LightningPay, to talk about how their team has built the best set of tools for stacking, saving, and spending Bitcoin across New Zealand.

Lightning Pay started with a simple goal: increase Bitcoin adoption across Aotearoa. What began as a way to help merchants accept BTC quickly grew into a platform where anyone can buy, sell, and spend Bitcoin directly from their bank.

Rooted in New Zealand’s “number 8 wire” spirit of innovation, Rob explains how Lightning Pay is helping Kiwis protect their wealth: Bitcoin only, no distractions. Their agile team is bringing together all the financial tools Kiwis need to stack, save, and spend in one place.

Helping anyone in the world move value with Lightning ⚡️

We sat down with Prashanth (nprofile…yk8r), Founder & CEO of Bringin (nprofile…k0kh), to talk about how they’re making Bitcoin usable in everyday life.

Bringin’s goal is simple: help people live on Bitcoin. Buy and sell from any wallet, spend even when a merchant doesn’t accept BTC, and send or receive value anywhere in the world.

Like most products, the idea was born from a problem.

When Prashanth moved from India to Estonia, he was paid in BTC but waited days (sometimes weeks) to access euros while banks made the whole process a nightmare. For Prashanth, holding Bitcoin was easy. Using it? Not so much.

It was from that frustration that the spark for Bringin was born.

They’ve spent the last 18 months focused on building the best experience for users in beta, and have now gone public, helping Bitcoiners across Europe use Bitcoin the way they want to: from paying rent and bills to moving value across borders.

And to deliver the best UX with an effortless developer experience, Bringin went nodeless with the Breez SDK.

The whole integration took just “two to three weeks,” avoiding the headaches of building on Lightning. No node setup, no channel management, no liquidity issues. Just value moving freely from one person to the next, leaving the Bringin team free to focus on building for real-world adoption.

🏠 Tony’s path started far from bitcoin

As a design leader at Airbnb in Silicon Valley, during the peak of Web2, Tony saw how the right tools could unlock new forms of capital and community. That experience shaped how he now thinks about building on bitcoin: not speculation, not hype, but everyday utility.

The challenge was clear. Wallets had become dentist apps, opened once a month at most. What would it take to create toothbrush apps, tools people use every day with family, friends, and colleagues?

In this episode of Shoot the Breez, we sit down with Atanas Tonchev, CTO and co-founder of 0c8c038252a5d6c15ec0fa8be58984d54f613bd445bb61d2c9e6e6bc202b49c1 (nprofile…jgy3), a company bringing bitcoin to restaurants, one plate at a time.

Atanas’ bitcoin story started in 2016, when he paid for sushi with sats to get 10% off. For him, it wasn’t about holding. It was about using bitcoin as a medium of exchange.

That ethos still drives ordermoon today. The platform now supports more than 500 venues, from bookings and orders to managing deliveries. And in 2024, they added something new: bitcoin.

No new app. No extra friction. Just one more button, built directly into the tools restaurants already use and powered by the Breez SDK ⚡️

With support from the local community, Bitcoin Beach and geyser (nprofile…n2y8), they’re building a circular economy from the ground up in Bulgaria. In Sofia alone, 21 venues now accept bitcoin.
