You try to intervene with cool packs etc. But that only helps with the symptoms. The real problem is the virus in the inner domain, your body. After less than a year, the fan in my Raspberry 4 case is making loud, screeching noises, so it is clear that its bearing(s) are gone. Instead of replacing that fan, I will switch the few tasks (BIND DNS and the StepCA Certificate Authority) it has to fulfil to my new NAS box (a Lenovo Tiny PC) and decommission the Raspberry. Side effect: my homelab will then be 100% Red Hat Enterprise Linux based. (the raspberry runs Fedora). Added to my todo list for the weekend.

Microgramma was cut in 1952 by Aldo Novarese and Alessandro Butti for the Nebiolo Type Foundry ask an upper case typeface. It was also used by Letraset (yep, the famous rub them off letters). 10 years later Novares reworked the typeface, added lower case and more characters and it was made available as Eurostile and also as Microgramma d. Over the years it was digitised by Linotype. URW, Bitstream. Until today it exemplifies (to me) optimism and progress. I like it a lot :)

As a first step the process of becoming a CNA (CVE Numbering Authority) [1] should be distributed, not centralised. That's the biggest SPOF (Single Point of Failure) IMHO. Right now a lot of exclusive power with regard to the CVE system is concentrated at MITRE. This must be changed. Saved and liberated the first 100 books I "bought" at Amazon for my Kindle. Amazon will stop offering the "Download & transfer via USB" option, so I am downloading all 210 books now. After downloading, I hunt them through Calibre and a certain plugin to remove the DRM stuff, convert the books to EPUB format so I can put them on a new ebook reader that is more open than the Amazon walled garden. And in future I will buy my eBooks someplace else. #ByeAmazon

Having a personal forge means I don't really have to care about scalability. It runs with the embedded SQLite engine just fine. No need for a complex setup with a separate database. Small is better :) I currently have 17 repositories in it, some of them are mirrors from GitHub repos, some are simple repos with Jekyll sources for my websites. I guess the hope is that the occupied territories become some sort of neutral zone with Ukraine demanding full demilitarisation of said territories, maybe even some sort of free trade status with Ukraine. Never conflate the two, if you want to be a good FOSS citizen. If you feel your code gets used in ways you cannot accept, exclude those that do it from your community. EU citizens living in a different EU country (like me, a dutch person, living in Germany) do not have full voting rights, but we can vote on the municipal level and for the EU parliament. Thus it logically follows that if we have at least these limited voting rights, we should definitely be allowed to be active as members of a political party. Yes, it's complicated. Priority date isn't always the filing date. E.g. in Europe I could file a patent application on the 1st of June 2023 in Belgium and then decide to file another one for France in June 2024. The priority date for the French application would than still be June 2023, as it is based on the *first* filing of the patent in Belgium. There are even weirder rules and exceptions.

- Most patent cases don't go to court, far more often some kind of deal with license payments is offered to avoid that

Should you read about a patent case somewhere, here's the things you should know:

- design patents are NOT patents. They are more like registered designs.
- the *only* important thing about a patent are the claims. You can safely ignore all the descriptions, graphics and other stuff. Read the claims. The first one is the most important
- Patents expire after 20 years (or missed fee payment, whichever comes first)

Klar, noch sind Schulen und Universitäten gebührenfrei. Aber lasst uns mal realistisch sein. Die Kosten für Schule und Uni sind weit höher als null. Egal ob es um die Wunschliste der Grundschule geht welche Farben und Stifte man kaufen soll, wie teuer die Bücher für Unis sind - Ausbildung ist teuer.
