There are natural open glades though that let the sunlight through. It&#39;s beautiful. They appear to be moving real slow but in fact signal very high winds speeds. <br/><br/>Nice to see the very summit of Cerro Torre itself appearing in one of the images. Don&#39;t need expedition tent as only out for 3 days max at a time. Given ferocity of weather in Patagonia it needs to be very strong to withstand the winds. It&#39;s a weight x comfort x performance equation. Eventually settled for the single skin Crux Raid X1. A little small for two but very strong, stable, tough &amp; relatively easy to put up in blizzards. Ibon is the Aragon word for mountain lake. It was this that first attracted me to the area which lies west of the Ordessa/Vignamale range. We had some problems in high winds with the extended walking poles collapsing. Needed tightening. We also had one pole that wouldn&#39;t quite fit in a roof slot, which needed some care. Full on storm conditions (thunder, lightning, hail, gale force winds) all night and we were relying on a new tent held up by two walking poles and weighed under a kilo. But, it did, so hats off to them. It held up really well. As I reached for the door handle to close the driver door I felt something run over my hand. I was a Scolopendra! I screamed like a demented banshee &amp; flew out of the car, must have looked funny as 😀.<br/><br/>Now we don&#39;t have much in Spain that will hurt you but a Scolopendra can inject a venomous bite that can cause intense, long-lasting pain &amp; swelling.
