An undo-tree-based solution has the same issue as the other undo-based approaches already discussed in this thread.

When multiple edits have been made to the buffer since the target text was deleted, any undo-based solution would reverse those edits before restoring the deleted text.

The yank-from-kill-ring command provides a straightforward way to retrieve and reinsert the deleted text into the buffer without undoing numerous legitimate edits made after the deletion.

Imagine this. You are editing an important piece of code or text in Emacs, refining it, and removing imperfections.

But then you realise—you've accidentally deleted a crucial line or paragraph! You're not sure when it happened, but you need that text back. Immediately!

What do you do?

Just type M-y to browse the kill ring, search for the lost text, let your completion framework find a match, and when you do, type RET to insert it back into your buffer. Problem solved!
