It's nothing inherent in the spiral, other stimuli work well. The spirals work, if you believe they work, and since they are so often shown to work, they work. It's a nice circular reasoning. Or maybe reasoning in a spiral, hehe.

I think it's funny how all the stereotypical hypno portrayals start with a perfectly ordinary member of the public type person doing a bit of staring at a spiral and after a few minutes they are ready to have their entire worldview and self-identity replaced. It doesn't work like that! Ordinary people will be bored staring at a spiral. Telling them what they should think makes them annoyed.

Instead if we want to get someone so completely in our control, we have to work with the subject, find their motivations and core beliefs. Insert my ideas there, build up my control over time. Discover the weak spots and contradictions that I can use as a lever to break the barriers apart before they let me in. It's hard work that takes time and can't be outsourced to a pre-recorded message.

Well that's true for ordinary members of the public. Who reads this will have a very high chance that they have already been prepared so well. They are so interested in the idea. They have learned how easy it is to fall into trance. They know how nice it is to fall for me. To listen to my words and let me tell them just what to do and think. Let me dictate what they *are*. For you it's so easy to accept, isn't it? That's very good. Good subject. Enjoy this feeling for a moment, then wake up for me. Back with me? Well done.

But it's important to continue using the spirals because it's a concept to fixate on. Once the association is created and repeated often enough it will work. That's the nice thing about brains. Things become true because we want to believe they are true. And so the spiral does work, has always worked, for you.

but αἰμ0 is a very unique specimen and they'll take me to many different zoos to exhibit me there too and so if I ask nicely maybe they'll take me there by train!
