I also thought it was ambiguous enough that it didn’t really leave any open-ended storylines, so if they got canceled, there wouldn’t be a huge backlash. In short, it was just a lukewarm ending—not horrible, but not satisfying either.

If Chromium allows this, then anyone—not just LinkedIn—can do this.

Most certainly, Google already knows all of this if you use Chromium. Meta probably does this. I’m sure others do, too.

Before AI, I felt like I could review PRs and, based on whose code I was reviewing, I could be more trusting and casual with my review, since I knew they usually wrote good code and paid attention to details. Now, with AI, no one pays attention to details, so I have to deeply scrutinize every PR, which takes twice or 3x the effort.

AI agents almost always add things that aren’t necessary, or they follow anti-patterns based on the surrounding legacy code context.

I’ve never understood these things, either.

I tried to get Stable Diffusion to generate a custom PHP “elePHPant” (see here for examples of what I mean: https://elephpant.me), but it kept failing because it hadn’t been trained on anything that looked like that.

So, I had to train a LoRA on a bunch of photos of the plush toys. Even still, it’s limited in its ability to generate images of them from certain perspectives and angles because I don’t have enough training data to show the toys from all possible angles.

There’s the art that comes about through remixing culture, and there’s the art that comes about from stretching oneself to innovate and create something completely new. I don’t think AI can do the latter—even when prompted by a human. It can only produce art that bears similarities to the data it was trained on. One could argue this is also what humans do, and maybe that’s so, but I still think this is an important distinction.
