I worked for Collins aerospace supporting the global 6000 business jet and was insane how much we were charging, even for software updates. Those systems labs are still required but I’m very excited with the development simulators early in the design, combined with AI able to understand SDK to make plugins and interface with engineering models on tools such as matlab. Part of the 737 max crashes involves FAA delegation to Boeing to self approve parts of the aircraft, such as MCAS system. Both crashes were due to a single sensor failure (angle of attack).
