Averaging out over a few weeks, we get a Docker pull for `latest` every 30 seconds. We have no idea what that translates to in terms of actual instances, but it seems good. Or maybe it's just one really really zealous instance somewhere. checking for updates. 🤷

the name we ask for gets used as the *creator* name (which is what people would follow), not the account username (which doesn’t get used for much). The prefix is intentional but we know it’s ugly, one day we hope to come up with something better!

The next release of Manyfold will include the ability to send GCODE and SL1 files (as appropriate) directly to printers via OctoPrint 🐙 (npub17mn…mfy0), Klipper, PrusaLink and Odyssey.

there isn't at the moment, but some folks in the support channel (https://matrix.to/#/#manyfold-support:matrix.org) have discussed the need for one.

In general though, if you start with the default path template and enable "parse metadata from path", it should give you *something* usable which you can then reorganise by filtering the detected tags.

The support channel will be happy to guide more though, if you want.

Manyfold is making the connection direct to the printer, browser isn't involved. So, if you were away from home and had access to Manyfold, you could still start a print. But it's all behind the appropriate authentication and policy checks, so attackers shouldn't be able to send anything to your printer.

you can configure printer connections in the settings, and then it will show a link for compatible file types.

At the moment it's just for admins, there will be good controls in place before other users can use it. Most likely we'll add a "printer" role that admins can grant to other users.

And it's totally on the user to be sure that the GCODE is physically compatible with the printer! We will add a confirmation dialog to make sure users know that!
