There’s a good chance the new router will be Alpine and PyInfra to manage the three config files and nftables I need.

a friend of mine just got one of those little router PCs off AliExpress with an N5105. He set up OPnsense himself and is good with 1000/500, a bunch of firewall rules but mentioned WireGuard seems slow.

I didn’t have a chance looking at the config myself, not sure if everything is configured properly.

So I’d say chances are pretty decent :)

Qwen 3.6 27b is doing an *excellent* job, on par with some of the larger hosted models the way I used it.

It’s a bit slow as it’s a dense model, but the quality is worth it. And you can fit it on higher end consumer hardware (anything >=20GB vram or ram in macOS should be fine for first steps)

Gemma 4 was also doing well but I didn’t spend much time with it as I lean more towards Qwen and the 3.6 release was close.

I implemented RRF (fancy RAG mixing keyword and vector search) in SQLite and Postgres. Ended up using Postgres, it was a fun exercise. And my assistant now has memories of all the stupid things I ask it to do.

It’s ridiculous the card is mostly a license file. And the physical copy being 30€ cheaper than buying it on the Nintendo eShop.

Hm, the TUI for my coding agent still needs a bit refinement. But the little agent is chugging along using Qwen 3.5 122b while I play Slay thr Spire 2 with Airmed, Dragonseer (npub1ama…cwvh) and a friend.

The code is in no way production ready. But good enough as a starting point saving me a few hours bootstrapping parts of the app.

Also the agent is working more reliable through multi step tasks than Zed with the same model. I suspect the difference in context strategy right now.
