I just finished «Drystone – A Life Rebuilt» by Kristie (npub14jp…jhhl). It was tough to read about the hard truths of racism, sexism, abuse, trauma, motherhood, ADHD, Long COVID, and addiction. And the unbearable weight of just hanging in there. But also encouraging to keep going and finding strength in family and craft.

A big recommendation!

Yeah, it sure looks like they found that people were confused, but this is really not helping: for a non-technical person the button goes to the wrong settings page, i.e. mobile connection when the problem is that roaming is disabled. Everything looks right and „connected“, but that setting prevents the data (very intentionally).

Instead of popping up that dialogue in every app anew (!!), I could imagine a small red icon in the island that would help you find the right setting …

Thing is: I know I‘m not connected already (data doesn’t load, duh …) and might want to look at Maps, at my RSS, even Masto: it‘ll pop up that dialogue many times, and, as can be seen from the second and third pic, doesn‘t remove it unless I click „OK“ (I reconnected between pic 2 and 3, see toolbar).

It blocks too much and is not actionable, just annoying …
