There are plenty of beautiful nature&#39;s gems I can recommend to visit, but for that I would totally rent a car. If you&#39;re into museums, castles etc. I would recommend Sigulda (there is a castle there + beautiful nature with hills, caves and forest, also great place for having a picnic there or renting a cabin to stay the night(though its not that far from Riga, so staying there is not a must). Cesis Castle - also a good one and I&#39;ve liked the history show they make over there. Rundale Palace, one of my fav. From natural places: ethnographic museum in Riga (also good for picnic), cape kolka (where waves from Baltic sea and riga Bay clash) - but there it&#39;s worth driving only if you are planning to stay the night somewhere around or going to Ventspils for a few days. Kuldiga (also recommend if you decide to take a few day trip to kolka, ventspils etc.) Beautiful city, has the longest Venta waterfall in Europe, again nature and few museums.
