It sure is. To prove it so, I wasted a roll awhile back by unrolling it by hand in the light to fully expose the emulsion. No film transport mechanism at all. After processing I could see little pin prick voids in the emulsion.

I'm going to keep using Foma 200 in 135. That's one of my favorite films. Won't be using any other Foma films though. I had a bad experience with their RC paper so I stick to Ilford. I did buy some of their fiber paper and it has been okay.

The folks at Foma have tried to explain the "Black Rain" by saying that it results from stress on the a delicate emulsion from film transport mechanisms. There isn't a much more stress-free film transport mechanism than hand cranking on my Duo Six-20 and using the red windows.

This is my photography kit, my Nikon Z7II with the excellent 35mm f/1.8S lens and the recently acquired 24-200mm lens. I imagine the 35mm will be my indoors lens. Stay tuned for photos.

Making 4x6 prints in the darkroom for Postcards from Afar. Had a good session today. Got two 4x6s I like. This neg dev’d in Rodinal required grade 5 to get decent contrast. I think I’m done with Rodinal. The other neg I dev’d in HC-110e only needed grade 2-1/2.

I was honestly surprised. I forgot to bring a rangefinder so I used the distance markings on the bed of the Bergheil, which aren’t terribly granular. Most shots were right around 4 meters. All the Bessa shots were at f/8, so the DOF would be from 8-16 ft. The Skopar lens on this Bessa is quite nice.

That’s interesting, I’ve never varied my inversions for the film type. I do the typical 10 sec every min after the first full min of inversions. My inversions are slow and gentle. I do 3 in 10 sec. I’ve never noticed uneven development.

No, the dust removal task would send me over the edge. With the V800 and Epson Scan 2 I can kick off a scan and 20 min later I have 12 clean images that don’t need dust spotting. I do other things while the batch is running. I’m not looking for the highest quality scans.

I’m using my Epson V800 and Epson Scan 2. I first tried using SilverFast, but the dust spots were terrible. The Digital ICE Technology in Epson Scan 2 is doing a great job of getting rid of the dust spots. Takes a bit longer but it’s worth it.

I used to use Zenfolio, which is pretty much the same as SmugMug. The issue I had with it is that you're spending a lot of money to have a website that is geared toward selling prints. Nobody was buying prints. While you can also buy prints on Flickr, it's not as in your face as it was on Zenfolio.
