1. The progress of podcast episodes is often lost after quitting the app. And it simply restarts from start, instead of resuming.

2. Sometimes, even if the episode is played, the audio isn't auto deleted.

3. When I use my wireless headphones, I can pause. But I can't resume anymore. This now happens 100% of the time, and is pretty annoying.

In Thailand, like in many other places in the world, especially in Asia, the most common digital payment methods aren't credit cards, they're QR codes. All sorts of QR codes from many different fiat payment providers. Shitty ones, good ones, it doesn't matter. As long as it's a QR code, it'll work for us.

Here's where PlebQR comes in. PlebQR is what I would call a Let-me-pay-for-you app. It matches you, the person who wants to pay for a drink with Bitcoin, with a random stranger on the internet who wants your Bitcoin and pay your fiat QR bill in return!

The UX is straightforward: You scan the QR code at the store, pay a Lightning invoice, and wait for the payment. No sign up needed and with incredible privacy.

It works best when you're not in a hurry and when there isn't a line of people waiting behind you. Those cases are surprisingly common, think restaurant bill, or at the flea market. Right now, it usually takes a minute or two for the payment to clear but it'll get faster as more people use it.

The best part though isn't that it just enables Bitcoin payments for basically everything and everywhere. It's that it represents a different, more natural form of decentralized trading that can't be stopped, and that isn't about buying and selling Bitcoin, but about spending it.

I wish you could try it out some time.

Super analyse sur l'or : la hausse n'est pas juste liée à l'inflation, mais aussi aux risques géopolitiques du dollar.

En revanche, j'ai l'impression que le panel fait peu de distinction entre Bitcoin et crypto, sûrement à cause de leurs biais institutionnels respectifs :

- Natacha Valla (ex-BCE, Sciences Po) voit la monnaie comme une émanation de la banque centrale.

- Sébastien Jean (IFRI) voit l'argent surtout par la lentille des intérêts des États-nations.

- Yulia Titova (IESEG) a une approche classique par les flux de trésorerie ou l'utilité industrielle.

Je conseillerais quand même à ces experts d'étudier plus sérieusement le protocole monétaire du Bitcoin pour approfondir l'analyse la prochaine fois. Même si je comprends qu'ils ne vont pas mordre la main qui les nourrit...

Bref, podcast recommandé si vous voulez comprendre pourquoi l'or cartonne en ce moment. Gardez juste à l'esprit qu'une solution à 2 000 milliards de dollars existe, même si elle n'a pas vraiment été évoquée ici.

I managed to get ppq.ai running directly in Google Sheets, using a simple Apps Script. I adapted the standard ChatGPT-in-Sheets script to hit the ppq.ai API.

It’s essentially a custom function where you pass the prompt and select cell(s): =PPQ("Summarize this " & A2 & " in 50 words.")

It works flawlessly for standard tasks, like automating data analysis and generating content (yeah, AI-slop).

It's working great for deepseek/deepseek-chat gpt-oss-120band similar models, though I'm still troubleshooting the reasoning models. They don't respond with this basic setup.

If you want to try this yourself, you'll need: * A Google account, and basic understanding of Google Sheets * A PayPerQ API Key.

Step 1: Get your API Key

Got to https://ppq.ai/api-docs.

Click the copy button next to your API Key.

Step 2: Open Apps Script

Open a new or existing Google Sheet.

In the top menu, go to Extensions > Apps Script.

A new tab will open with the Apps Script editor.

Step 3: Save Your API Key

Click the Project Settings (gear icon) on the left sidebar.

Scroll down to the Script Properties section.

Click Add script property.

Input:

Property: PPQ_API_KEY

Value: (Paste your ppq.ai API key here).

Click Save script properties.

Step 4: Add the Script

Click the View Code icon (angle brackets < >) to switch to the code editor view.

Delete any code currently in the editor (like function myFunction() {...})

The first time you run it, Google might ask for authorization. Click Review Permissions, choose your account, and if it says "Google hasn’t verified this app," click Advanced > Go to (Untitled project) (unsafe) > Continue.

Step 6: Change the Model (Optional)

The default script runs DeepSeek V3. However, you can also use other models that do not require reasoning. For example, if you want to try gpt-oss-120b, follow these steps: 1. Open Apps Script 2. In the code editor view, find this line: model: 'deepseek/deepseek-chat', 3. Replace deepseek/deepseek-chat by gpt-oss-120b 4. Save the file.

Now, the function will run with the new model. And it will use additional credit. You can track the costs on the Account Activity page.

You can find the list of available Model IDs in the ppq.ai documentation and easily copy them.

This setup should have you up and running with ppq.ai in Google Sheets in no time. While it handles standard models like a champ, I'm still working on getting the reasoning models to play nice.

If you have any tips or tricks for tackling those finicky reasoning models, I'm all ears. Your insights could help push this integration even further.

There was a planned power cut that lasted 3 hours.

Fortunately, as it was planned, I simply switched off my node in advance. So my hard drive didn't get corrupted as happened to me in the past.

But if had channels open, I'm pretty sure these would have been closed. And I'd have to pay to reopen them. And I'd have to move my on-chain Bitcoin back to LN...

Ain't nobody got time for that!

I did a Google search and found Zapadd in the search results. I visited the homepage, of course, and saw a typo in the <h1> that didn’t inspire confidence...

Also, buttons with broken emojis, like 🪿. Not a dealbreaker, but not a great first impression either. (You should fix that, team.)

So, I looked for more info on Nostr and Stacker News. There isn’t much out there. Almost nothing about how the ads actually work. No reviews, no feedback, no warnings.

But it seemed legit enough. So I was like: fuck it. We ball.

First, Nostr login worked fine enough, I used nos2x. Logging in also fixed the buttons with broken emojis, BTW.

But the rest? A few rough edges.

Note selection wasn’t easy.

The “Random” option is simple: you just pick how many notes you want to target. But why are these notes showing up? How do I know they’re actually relevant? There’s no way to check who’s behind them, how many followers they have, or if they even get seen. Feels like guessing.

Keyword search is hit or miss. Sometimes you get too many results, sometimes too few. And no real way to filter or sort. So you end up picking names you don’t know, hoping someone sees it.

One of my own notes showed up on the list, so I tested it on myself. At least I know the flow works.

The message limit is 49 characters, a bit tighter than a usual Google Ads headline. But just enough to explain what Seed Keys is. Emojis go through, which is fine. But links don’t work (at least not in my Minibits wallet), so don’t count on driving traffic that way.

Creating zap requests took about 20 minutes. I gave permissions upfront, otherwise, I’d have to confirm every single zap. Didn’t want that.

Then a notification popped up: “Due to Primal Wallet rate limiting, your zaps may take a few hours to be sent.” But it took only about 45 minutes to send all 1,000 zaps. Maybe a bit longer to confirm the failed zaps (I didn’t stick to my screen to check that).

Still, it’s not something you fire and forget. It felt like a slow drip.

And I wasn’t sure if I could leave the tab open, or close my browser. So, I left everything open, left it running. Just in case.

I really enjoyed seeing the live zaps come in on Nostr Zap. There’s something oddly satisfying about it.

Zapadd’s dashboard was a bit slower to refresh. But still, nice to see real activity happening.

In the end, 51 zaps failed. There’s a “Request refund” button you can click, to get the sats back. I did. It worked fine, got them to my Nostr Lightning address.

I didn't break Top 10 Zappers on Nostr Zap. A bit disappointing 😅

While I hate spam, this feels different. Zaps are more acceptable. People get free sats. And there’s a little dopamine hit when your note lights up. So maybe it’s worth it, even if it’s just noise.

So I ran the Zapadd campaign to get Seed Keys seen.

Account is brand new. No history. No network.

Here’s what happened: - 948 zaps - 29 follows - 3 likes - 4 replies - 1 repost - 5 mentions - 1 DM

And yeah, no sales yet.

The campaign cost me 10,400 sats: 8,000 for zaps, 2,400 in fees. I received 408 sats back from failed zaps, 8 sats each.

One if the categories was: Right or racist?

For those unfamiliar, it's a party game with questions that test players' assumptions about stereotypes, with players deciding if a statement is factually correct ("right") or based on racist beliefs ("racist").

I had a couple of friends of friends in my team. And they were proudly saying they were racist, from the get go. As in: "yeah, we moved from that place because too many Muslims." Or trying to answer every question with: "the Jews, because of the Jews."

For the record, I had a friend from Israel in my team. And the MC was Muslim...

Anyway, I don't know if it's now fashionable to be racist, or if they were pulling everyone's leg, but that was fucking weird.

I kept my mouth shut, BTW. Maybe should have said something, but didn't want to ruin the night.

Our team didn't even make it to the end. And we were last. It wasn't fun.
