The cows we purchased dropped Angus cross calves. We decided to keep the steers. We sold all the heifers. <br/><br/>The experiment they ran was successful in polling or at least greatly reducing the size of horns on the cross animals. We have seen mixed results on the performance of them. They seem to get sick easier than a highland and are more susceptible to getting pink eye and things. The ones that don&#39;t have issues grow a little quicker than 100% highlands, getting larger than a highland and smaller than an angus. <br/><br/>We have a naturally polled highland bull that drops naturally polled calves 50% of the time when bred to highland cows. Grass-fed animals typically have more omega-3s. <br/><br/>The flavor also changes. Better or worse depends on the person eating its preference. We believe corn fed have a more bland taste and smell. Others describe grass fed as more gamey. Grass finished can vary a lot. We have been finishing on alfalfa and think it improves flavor over finishing on fescue. <br/><br/>It will likely gain fat with corn fed. That does not necessarily mean better.
