I believe all hardware should be open to user modification in hardware and software.

If a manufacturer stops providing software support/updates for a device, I should be able to run my own code on it with no barriers so I can support it myself with my own kernel/OS or another community maintained system.

I should also be able to upgrade it with newer parts over time without having to own a soldering iron or have serialisation on the parts.

However, we are focussing on the possibility of freezing vimscript. We cannot, by ourselves without more people, maintain or continue to modify vimscript outside of regular maintenance.

As far as I know, Linus Torvalds (who made Linux) is all for letting tested AI slop into the kernel, not just AI reviewed code.

Not sure about others on the team, but he seems to be okay with it. I don't get it either honestly other than they're doing it.

I would even go as far as to say that AI code is already in the kernel, but I'm not sure if that's happened yet.

Not only is it invasive by nature, it's a huge security risk (Genshin Impact's AC RCE), could cause system instability if programmed badly (Vanguard in LoL), sometimes don't even work right (Apex Legends tournament hack) and some don't uninstall when you uninstall the game! (Delta Force, Fortnite, etc) It can prevent #Linux users from playing too!
