LLMs are very far from AGI, that's true. But the agenda behind them overlaps a lot with the rest of the TESCREAL bundle, whose ideology is the issue. LLMs and image generation get their own slide in the talk, so no worries, it's relevant. It only scratches the surface of a very complex topic, that's for sure. Gotta start somewhere.

We have normalized condoms and STD testing. We can do better with airborne diseases than sticking our heads in the sand in the face of life destroying, incurable diseases like Long Covid that current vaccines does not reliably protect against.

motivated reasoning is one hell of a drug. I've seen a developer far better than me getting completely hypnotized by LLM sycophancy; I tried pointing out that what they proudly posted as "see? Completely bug free after just a few rounds of conversation!" did in fact contain a subtle bug/violation of their prompt. Got ignored and they only went downhill from there. It's a saddening cult really.

I would assume it's almost exclusively CPU, not IO bound, and all the memory you take for the RAM disk isn't available to the OS anymore, which is a big issue with rust-analyzer as it is spectacularly memory hungry in big projects. So you might end up swapping which ... uh, not good. But sure, trying won't hurt, I'm just skeptical
