I was raised around the corner from the Forty Foot swimming place in Sandycove, County Dublin. #BrendanBehan had upped and died while I was a toddler, but the sign was unchanged.

Just at the simplest human level, calling people idiots alienates them. Badly. #HilaryClinton tried that, and it didn't work out well for her.

I mostly agree. The Greens will still do well in London, and there is hope for some of the remaining non-London councils. Despite the #Starmtroopers' hopes, the blitz has not crushed the Greens.

But it has significantly slowed the Green momentum. Large parts of England which should have spent the next few years with a non-trivial bunch of Green councillors now won't get that boost. And ReformUK parades as today's big winners.

In 2022, Starmer lied on #LBC that Israel had a "right to defend itself" and a right to cut water. Again, wrong on both counts. No country has a right to defend illegal occupation. Withholding water from civilians is a war crime. It took a week of uproar before he partly retracted.
