You young 'uns won't remember but in 1999, Gwynn Morgan, then president of Alberta Energy Company, colluded with the RCMP to set off a bomb that blew up a shed at a gas well site. They did this to try to entrap locals who were acting against the oil wells' sour gas leaks, and also to drum up public sympathy for the oil&gas company whose shed was blown up. #fossilFuels

The original plan was for Gwynn Morgan and the RCMP to blow up an oil tanker truck but Morgan was afraid it would prove too unnerving to truckers.

There used to be a lot of CBC stories about this RCMP/oil&gas company conspiracy but I think this is the only one still standing:

I'm pretty hard on pollsters for their links to their conservative-leaning parent firms that nobody cares to acknowledge, when really the problem is more the media's fault for using them far too much b/c cheap filler. And there is also the problem of political polling being such a tiny percentage of pollsters' income compared to corporate.

Angus Reid thoroughly publicly disgraced himself by piling residential school denialism on top of being gulled by a rw site blaming Trudeau for church burnings, but I wouldn't call AR bias the worst of them.

That said, AR CEO Shachi Kurl is not Angus Reid.

From my limited understanding from the gov's TMX pipeline info pages, the 80% of TMX reserved for "committed shippers with long term take-or-pay contracts" is at capacity:
"From June 2024 to June 2025, committed capacity was effectively fully utilized each month, averaging 99% utilization."
while the remaining 20% set aside on a monthly basis for uncommitted spot shippers is not at capacity due to the higher rates.

So the pipeline's overall capacity is 84 -89%.
