it crunched through it, built out all my files/modules/structs, only used 20% of my total context to do it.

if your protocol can validate providence of the data and prove nobody's lying because of math, you can trust it

as long as users are decoupled from a specific server (probably because they directly control a private key), users can be nomadic

if anyone can join the network, you're permissionless and the decentralization is not just technical but also social

at this point you probably have the basis for a protocol that properly fits the definition of "decentralized"

I am doing something similar (also with iBGP!) but didn't involve FIBs or pf; I wanted automatic failover at my firewall across multiple internet connections at home (fiber and backup 5G/LTE). Also my setup has the cloud VPS' static IP on my home VNET jail on a loopback -- I use arp proxy to make it routed over a Wireguard tunnel.

I sat down and pushed a bit, and lo, out came a jet that I didnt even feel an urge for one minute earlier. It piled in the bowl like brown marshmallow fluff.

The problem rose when I tried to wipe. I went through a whole fucking roll of TP and could not get it all off me. So.

I jumped in the shower. Yep, its gross, but it had to be done. There I stood, water pouring down, cheeks spread, and using my own hand to make certain I'm clean.

That was when I discovered that after using my hand to wipe myself (before I soaped the area) my hand came back covered in some sort of transparent grease. It was so fucking foul. The grease made water bead off my hand. It was tacky too, and very difficult to manage.

So I grabbed the bar of saop and went to work.

The bar of soap came away coated in grease as well, and would no longer wash. I had to turn the water to hot and massage the soap for five minutes to get it to the point where I could use it again. It took me an hour to get the fucking grease off my pucker. I shudder to think of what its doing INSIDE ME right now, but I will damned sure never eat that shit again.

but there are plenty of apps/tools that have never existed before because nobody thought it was a problem worth solving, or there isn't a good enough product-market-fit

now you can make custom tools pretty easily to solve almost any problem you have. I have a ton of things I've wished for but never had the time to build, and now I can have those things solved quite easily.

Posting on social media might get you some friends, but posting on a blog increases the chances people will read what you wrote. People are more likely to link to a blog than a social media post, and blogs are just better for long form writing.

logs currently show: Total: 44,853 hits

I've never had ~45,000 likes on a fedi post before and I doubt most people will ever have the reach to make that possible
