Any system of government that is unable to make genuine economic changes eventually destroys the social contract between generations.

If it gets put in the too hard basket or the existing law is treated like a bible then the problems compound.

In Australia, SEGA is pronounced SEE-GAH but in some other countries I'm led to believe it's pronounced SAY-GAR.

After intensive research I have found that SEGA is a shortened version of "SErvice GAmes of Japan", which sold slot machines to US military bases after WW2.

So SEGA is most fairly pronounced SER-GAY.

There you go, now nobody is happy

Working on Cell Sword I have been on a modest dive into what makes Descent (1995) tick.

Being of the 90s it has its own file formats for levels and resources and also a format for grouping those all together. The extensions are porcine themed - .HOG, .HAM, .PIG.

Impenetrable to me of course but there is a healthy scene to decode them. Interesting in an anthropological way -- not the clean patterns we have developed around data exchange, serialisation and streaming today.

The spec says a buffer.uri field can be a chunk of data starting with "data:" or a path to a file.

To identify this the library checks if the value starts "data", if so it's a chunk of data or else it's probably a file.

This has blown up for a user using a file called "data.bin" ... 😅

I can fix that but surely no user would ever have a file called data:.bin? Surely
