My thesis on Japan's decline:

My thesis is that Japan was a major world power prior to it's defeat in WW2. It had a young, energetic population, and was able to dominate Asia. The Japanese empire, drawn in green on a map, at its greatest extent, was actually comparable to any great empire from history, in terms of land mass and population under its control. Like Ancient Israel, Japan also had a very tight, insular population, with a very strong identity, a very strong concept of "in group / out group", and a very strong, ethocentric religion based around the idea of the emperor as descended from the sun god. But just like the Roman destruction of the Temple in 70AD was a psychologically devastating blow from which the nation of ancient Israel would ultimately never recover, the American dropping of the atomic bomb (similar in merciless violence) and forced concession on the Japanese that they needed to admit their emperor was mortal and a figurehead (similar in theological significance to "God allowing the temple to be destroyed"), took the soul from the Japanese in the same way the Ancient Israelites were left without their identity in 70AD.

The Japanese carried on for a while, based on their momentum. They were able to even raise to economic superpower to the extent people were talking about them taking over the role of the US as number 1. But the US knew they had Japan where they wanted them. The military base in Okinawa, for example. The "JET Program". Which was probably put in place as a result of American intelligence influence and allowed American graduates to live in Japan and study their ways. And, more than anything, the petrodollar, which meant that Japan's surplus was cycled back into US treasuries, as national and fuel security required access to dollars, but which was effectively a mafia-protection-racket like system of tribute.

The Japanese got to work 16 hour days making cheap electronics for the Americans. The Americans got cheap good to keep a lid on inflation at home, while the Japanese bought treasuries and funded the US government's deficit. Meanwhile the Japanese, suffering probably from Stockholm Syndrome, got to lie to themselves that they were benefitting from this, and that they might even someday rule economically. (Maybe the Japanese elites knew what was going on, but they were happy to go along, turning their citizenry into slaves for the American economic machine, while benefiting from their own Seigniorage grift).

Now, over 70 years later, the chickens are coming home to roost. The Japanese nation has been drained of its vitality since the war. The Americans have sucked the body dry. Japanese cannot afford to have kids. They are facing demographic death. They are importing third world labor as a result, and can look forward to a gradual erosion of the social contract and social harmony as a result, a la Europe. They are selling the family jewels—finally capitulating to American capital. Blackstone buying up real estate, for example. Or Buffet buying up the trading companies.

Japan is turning into another quasi colony cheap Asian travel destination. Its peers are now the likes of Thailand. They are building luxury resorts for Americans, Europeans, and Chinese, while their domestic population suffers under the weight of inflation. It used to be Japan was expensive and only accessible to the rich from the west, but now, with the cheap JPY, and the large income disparity, the average (or quite below average) American is able to fly to Japan and live large—buying up the food and resources and real estate while incentivizing prostitution of culture to creepy voyeurs desperately seeking the authenticity which hasn't existed in their globohomo homo economicus societies for decades.

Then of course the prisoner's dilemma as you and neighbouring states now have standing armies. So warfare and empire building become inevitable. And then you need to innovate to stay top dog. Thanks. I did end up going down this route but in my case Open Claw managed to bork itself so I've gone back to Claude for now. (It did connect to Maple, but the performance was subpar with some weird formatting / syntax issues showing up in the chat. Then it could 't go back to Claude and I had to mess around a lot to get the model changed back eventually). Not only that but in my experience the cheaper Claude models are too limited so I am using their upper models and getting killed by API fees.

Basically I see it's obvious that Zionist interests have been running a psyop (The Scofield Bible etc) to coopt Christendom (especially American, Evangelical Christianity) to support Zionist policy, based on the manufactured theology that says God has two plans, one for Jews, one for Christians, which we know as dispensationalism.

I think Bitcoin is still the best simply because there is no better alternative. Gold is great until you get 6102d. Was due to report on it again this week but we had to cut it for time. Discussions are being reported in the Nikkei and looks like we'll get 20% next year. There will be a give and take but their focus seems to be on regulating the exchanges around insider trading and disclosure so it's very "Web3" focussed which is revealing of how out of touch the Japanese regulators still are. Absolutely. Where did this idea that "God is love" and "all you need is love" come from? I'm guessing Liberal Christianity and the "Social Gospel". Even if you only read the New Testament it's clear that the consequences of sin are dire. And general revelation in nature shows us the world is brutal. (It can be ruled by the Bishops in Washington if you like). They will be responsible for anointing God's representative on Earth which will be the King of England and the US President. There will be freedom of religion to an extent but only protestant Christians will be able to hold high office. Also, non Christians will need to pay additional taxes. Thinking about it I also think only Christian land holding male head of households should get the vote.

It's like how chess.com became king by paying all the GMs to play there. And since Nostr is just a protocol it means a VC backed app project like Primal would need to do that. But then, since they have no moat in terms of the network it makes little sense to do that. So then maybe Primal would need to look at top talent posting exclusively to Primal's relay or something. And, voila, we've reinvented centralized social media. But without those financial incentives how can we expect content creators to come and post here exclusively? And without moats and ROI how can we expect capital to fund it? Like with Bitcoin, the model needs to work in alignment with human incentives. So, greed has to equal good.

I think that would be fine, actually. Nostr is just like HTTP or TCP/IP. It's just the plumbing. Maybe it will make a better web. I think it will because the public/private key pair and natural fit with Bitcoin help solve the problems of identity and also online micropayments. But the reality is, like with TCP/IP, the apps that make the biggest mainstream impact will be the ones who can make a moat and exploit their user base for maximum profit. So we can expect to see exclusive relays or at the very least proprietary elements in apps which make them sticky. You just can't be pouring millions into a project which someone down the street can then use to bootstrap a competitive service. This is the same reason Coinkite had to make its Coldcard licensing commercially restrictive. The reality of human incentives means that a utopian vision will never and can never be realized. Never.
