That all makes sense. I've heard there's been a drastic change in regards to the american view on pedophilia and age gaps since the 70s.

What about this context, sometimes when I play a video game, the female characters will be drawn in a way that has a lot of cleavage and eroticism to the clothing design, and the characters have a particular body type, often not a realistic one. Yeah you know what, I'm super confused and part of the reason is, im my mind, we're having 2 simultaneous disputes.

1 over whether or not it's fair enough to blame people for acting in ways you dislike given the circumstances and one over whether or not governing bodies inherently have a vested interest in keeping their subjects ignorant.

The reason I said the thing about what bad education *is* and does to a person was in service of the first point which is I think it's unessessarily cruel and useless to insult people over their approach to life and knowledge. Because those are learned behaviors that did adapt them to their environment, and their environment is capitalism whether this stuff is inherent to governments or not. The governments we have are the ones that exist to enable capitalism to exist.

The thing about trust is about this too, you're asking them to trust that, as YOU (you're the random stranger I was talking about btw) say, humility and skepticism and knowing that they need to not have a take on a subject they haven't researched, and using your definition of research (the actual definition to be fair) and not their own which is like, reading conspiracy theory websites, is the correct way to approach knowledge and politics. When for a lot of their lives they were taught that the correct way was faith and memorizing facts that were eternally true and immutable.

Those can be objective truths, and it still objectively matters how that information gets to them and when and why and IF and what information they had before that.

I don't really care that much if you believe the other point or not.
You agree it'd be best if there wasn't a government. If you foolishly get involved in establishing a better but still bad government we'll just overthrow it again later. I don't care what the sudsbury model is. But if you want to tell me feel free.

I do think governments do have a vested interest in teaching people to trust and regurgitate information it gives them. I don't see how a person would exist like who you're talking about, a policy maker who would want people well educated, that's a confusing concept to me and I currently think it's not gonna be real.
But on this point, if you wish to speak further, I promise to only listen and say whether or not I understand or agree and not try to convince you further. I've lost interest in convincing you of this partially because I suspect you may be right about this one somehow.
