yesterday was rough: making plaster moulds---lost one of my previous tiles, but I learned A LOT.

Today, I'm back in my happy place, modeling tiles. My decoration background is 2d Art, but this fox and flower is probably my most sculptural and volumetric tile yet.

Stay tuned, I'm still doing some carving on this one.

You are too kind! Thank you! Working in printmaking has been a big help with the way I think about colors, contrasts and composition when painting. I love the freedom of being able to wipe a mistake out and try again if something in a painting doesn't work out the way i hoped it would---a lot harder to do that with a woodcut.

It just felt like, while participating in creator culture for almost 2 decades, I'd feel increasing pressure to perform---to the point i lost part of myself chasing the algorithm. The happy thing is Mastodon has been a lifeline-with a much healthier culture. I believe in Mastodon, and don't plan to leave anytime soon.

My goal is to get away from META products-I'm down to logging in only one day each week.

I loved reading books when I was younger, but my phone and social media made my attention span so short, i couldn't concentrate enough to read a book. I am reading more now since limiting my time online.

Thank you! The eagle is by Karen Heyl. She is best known as a stone carver--so it was really cool to see her work in ceramic. The base is carved limestone. I love that piece too!

I'm sorry that you can't come see it in person. i understand 100% why you (and the rest of the world) would not want to visit the US right now.

in the meantime, we are doing our best to fix our mess. hopefully we can repair the damage our government is doing right now. I blame the big US tech companies for a lot of it, it's why I am on Mastodon.

excited to share 2 ceramic pieces that are part of the Imprinting Justice: Clay exhibit opening this Friday at Queen City Clay-Cincinnati, Ohio.

these works were created last year, while I was a guest at the Corner Studio, in Ontario, Canada. Both are made with a unique grey stoneware clay that is produced in that region of Canada.

The show is on on display until Feb 28th
I hope you’ll get to see the show!
