Today I learned that people who work with lead ingots as a hobby sometimes use cast iron cookware to melt and pour it. The lead gets into every crevice of the thing invisibly which is all fine and good as long as it stays in their workshop, but then the owners pass away and their families sort it into the pile to donate to the local charity shop where some unwitting buyer puts it into their kitchen or camping rotation.
