The open social web is ONE web.

I get prefering one, but being religious over ActivtyPub, vs ATProto vs Nostr protocols is silly and like POP3 email vs SMTP email etc, when in reality it was all ONE email system.

Just so, the whole open social web benefits and is enriched by ANY of the other succeeding.

It feels like "feeds" is a missing & Flipboard (npub13fk…z5hw), Surf (npub1ekk…vy6m) and Newsmast Foundation (npub142g…kmy5) and others have great feeds in the wild now. Probably an unpopular take: I don't believe the EU can create an alternative tech stack. It needs to foster an independent ecosystem; anything less will just benefit all the people who already know how to get EU grants. My take: community servers are not one thing across the fedi, nor need they be. General purpose servers might have relatively indestinct local feeds from each other, like a big food court. Everybody mixes togtether. But specialized servers like @jazztodon.com, @me.dm, @mathstodon.xyz, and @mapstodon.space are unique bistros with their own flavor - and each type works for different folks.
