Making comics has been on my bucket list for a while. I made crappy comics when I was a kid, but nothing with any point of view. Well I'm starting to feel like I wanna give it a real shot soon.

I did some research on good workflows for talk bubbles today (that went well!) and so I figured I'd take it for a test run. So here's a comic!

Here's the finished Amsterdam piece.

I think it turned out pretty fun. I am liking the mix between a refined illustration and the expressive sketchy energy that is easy to lose between the sketch and final phase of a piece. I think there's a lot more to explore about that in future work.

That's been fun for me is that while their team did give me a list of specific things they wanted included in the intro sequence (and a bit if background info I'd need to make sense of it), I basically did not know what 80+% of the references were really about.

So as I've been getting through the season I've had multiple "aha!" moments myself. Also been fun seeing people post fan theories about the intro easter eggs online.

Just visited Iceland for a few days and got a chance to drive around the country a bit and see a bunch of really epic sights. Was an incredible trip and an absolutely breathtaking country.

On the flight home I felt pretty inspired and knocked out these 3 illos inspired by photos I took there. I'm sure I'll be doing more. The country is in perpetual golden hour this time of the year as long as the sky is clear so we got a ton of awesome photos.
