I have written to Waitrose suggesting they operate a scheme of paying ahead for some items as many cafes already do.
They haven’t even bothered to reply.

There are many families who were surviving perfectly well before their mortgage doubled, their heating costs doubled, their insurance doubled and multiple other costs increased exponentially.

But they are not eligible for the food bank.
