Today, a new Vtuber company called IZIGENIA debuted some of its talents. One talent I was looking forward to seeing was Ruridori Kafka. I am a fan of her artist's work, so I found her design appealing. She really nailed her debut performance. She has a pretty amazing voice, and, given her hobbies, she seems to be more of an idol than a gamer, so I'm interested in what her streams are going to be like.

I tried American Strong Zero. I can see its appeal. The flavor is much more pronounced than that of our hard seltzers, where the flavor feels like backwash. Virgin Punk was a blast to watch. It felt like watching a 90s OVA in modern times. Especially with the leader of Archimedeath. A lolicon killing a girl and putting her mind in a replica of her 14-year-old self. That level of absurdity really makes this enjoyable! It's a shame though, since I liked Ubu's adult design better. It's a small footnote in something I'm working on, but I felt that it was cool enough to share. There's going to be a more detailed post after I finish. For a crypto VTuber, I tried to envision how zapping would translate to YouTube superchats. Zapping on Nostr tends to just be one color and would just blur in a chatting stream. So I came up with colors and tied them to specific stat amounts.

Colors are just shades of orange. Obviously because of Bitcoin. Although I don't really get how peach and apricot count as shades of orange. I have next to no knowledge when it comes to color theory.

The sounds of excitement fill the Ewelock Creamery. Classes are over for today, so the small shop is packed with the academy's students. They sit and indulge in the various ice cream flavors, even making videos to suggest different flavors to the other students. In a small pocket of the shop, two boys are eating peacefully.

The bigger of the two, Jacob munches on a double decker ice cream sandwich. His broad frame is awkwardly cramped around the small round table between them. His sleeves are rolled to his elbows as he leans forward, trying to keep ice cream from dripping on his sweater vest. Although splotches of chocolate have already smeared his face.

In contrast, the other boy, Rocco, wears a standard-issue Shepard Academy uniform. The blazer is embroidered with an insignia displaying a sheep on a white field. His shirt and tie are neatly pressed. His dark brown hair has crisp peaks on top, while the back falls to his shoulders. Rocco idly eats from a bowl of coffee ice cream when Jacob suddenly speaks up.

"Have you ever heard of a Third Place?"

Jacob’s question comes out faintly between his chews. Rocco doesn't answer immediately. Instead, he pauses digging into his ice cream, letting the spoon clink against the metal bowl.

"No? Don't think I have. What's that?"

Jacob takes an aggressive bite of his sandwich. He finishes chewing this time, one hand reaching up to tug at his crooked collar before answering.

"It's like a place you go to hang out with people. Besides work and home."

Rocco looks around the creamery, taking in the sight. He takes a listless spoonful of ice cream, then spins it in slow circles.

"Like here?"

Jacob surveys the creamery too, a grin spreading across his face.

"Exactly!"

Jacob takes one last bite, shoving the rest of the sandwich in his mouth.

"Now have you heard of a Fourth Place?"

The question comes out as a muffled blur around a mouth full of melting ice cream. Rocco narrows his eyes, trying to decipher what Jacob asked. He gives up after a while and just shakes his head in surrender. Jacob wipes his sticky hands on a napkin before fishing in his messenger bag. He pulls out a square piece of paper. He unrolls it on the table to reveal a printed-out map of a mall.

After finishing the last of his ice cream, Rocco leans over. He looks at it, but it's a standard mall map, the kind you'd stare at after getting lost in the perfume department haze. He then looks back at Jacob.

"A mall?"

Jacob shakes his head, rubbing his palm over the paper like he's polishing a treasure map.

"No, not just any mall. Mall World!"

Rocco retains a mask of confusion. Without making a sound, he stands up and checks his blazer for stains. After seeing that he is clean, he picks up the metal dish and heads for the counter. Jacob scrambles to refold the map, nearly tripping over his chair to catch up to Rocco.

"Okay, the conversation got a bit lost at the end."

Rocco hands the bowl to the cashier. He grabs a handful of napkins and gives them to Jacob. Jacob is puzzled as he looks and sees no chocolate marks on his vest. Rocco motions around his mouth.

"Maybe you should finish chewing before engaging in a conversation."

A group of girls stop making their video to giggle at Jacob. Red tints his face, highlighting the chocolate stains even more. Jacob snatches the napkins to clean himself.

"Well, you should have asked me to repeat...hey! Wait up!"

Jacob throws the dirty napkins away and rushes to Rocco, who is already heading out the door.

Shepherd Academy, the school that guides the next generation of the elite. A boarding school roughly a fifteen minute drive from the city. It's where the brightest go before they're dropped off at the lucky Ivy League school their parents donate to. Rocco exits the creamery located in the southeast section of the campus.

He takes in the bleak scene around him. Gray skies mirror the slick, moist pathways, and the grass is sodden. It's normally a beautiful place with clear skies; however, it's the middle of the rainy season. Jacob joins him soon after taking a bit to catch his breath.

"So that's what I was trying to say. Mall World is a fourth place."

Rocco scratches his head trying to figure out what Jacob is trying to say.

"Where were you getting all this place stuff from anyway?"

He pulls out his phone and opens a PDF.

"From a paper Mimi wrote."

Rocco shoves Jacob the action barely does anything to move him but makes Jacob scrambles to not drop his phone.

"You should have started with that! Just read from the paper."

The two make their way across campus, heading towards the west corner, where the library is located. Along the way, they make various stops Rocco needs to make. He hands his forgotten homework to Professor Riel, who accepts it with a pleased nod. The professor continues to walk towards the main building when another student nearly clips him. Rocco smoothly hands off a game key card without breaking stride as the student escapes from punishment. The duo comes across Ashlyn, their friend, confirming their library plans. Rocco mentions that they might be a few minutes late. All while this is happening, Jacob reads from Mimi's paper.

"While it's commonly known that there are three places in our social environment. The first place is the home, the second place is work or school, and the third is a communal space where you don't have to worry about the problems of the first and second. I believe there are two additional ones: a fourth place and a fifth place. The fourth place is the subconscious area we visit in our dreams, and the fifth place is the afterlife."

Their final stop is Sanja, who waits patiently by a coffee cart. She wears a soft smile upon seeing Rocco, revealing her braces that are styled like stars. Her black hair is styled into Dutch waterfall braids, eyes that shine like liquid mercury, and a face that would attract anyone if it weren't marked with a large scar on the right side of her face. The scar resembles an X and could easily just be a birthmark or not.

She joins them without a word, falling into step as they veer toward a small, hidden corner behind the library. Rocco lifts Sanja up against the walls still damp from the morning showers. He holds her sweater vest down at her waist so her blouse doesn't become wet and begins to make out with her. Jacob positions himself in a way to conceal them with his wide frame. Clearing his throat, he raises his voice just a tad. Not loud enough to draw attention to them but just enough so it doesn't get drowned out by the sounds of kissing.

"Mall World seems to be the fourth place. The only one of its kind so far. A mall where dreamers can meet and socialize without worrying about time or reality. A place where people can really connect on a deep psychological level. Without being bound by the constraints of the first three spaces. Its liminal appearance with rows and rows of empty space gives a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Unlike the withering dread of societal decay like malls in reality."

Now that he understands what Jacob has been talking about, Rocco stops kissing Sanja.

"Wouldn't the afterlife make more sense as the fourth place?"

Jacob pockets his phone. He keeps his eyes focused on the water fountain just in front of the library. Watching as the people around it slowly leave.

"No, if there's another place where we can hang out before the afterlife, then it should count."

"If it's real."

Sanja pulls Rocco back in, kissing him before he can finish responding. He lets her for a moment before continuing.

"I assume you want to go there?"

Jacob turns to face Rocco after the last person leaves the fountain.

"It's the rainy season. There's nothing else to do on the weekends."

Rocco nods in agreement. During the rainy season, Shepherd Academy students tended to spend more time on campus. If too many of them went out, it was hard to find reliable drivers to take them to the city.

Rocco returns to kissing Sanja. The passion is a lot more audible as it clashes with the low rumble of thunder overhead. He takes this time to assess the information. A realm that only exists in dreams. It doesn't have any logic to its existence or how it's sustainable when the dreamer leaves. Doubts swirl in Rocco's head while his tongue intertwines with Sanja's.

Rocco remembers his father’s words: Never take a bet you don’t fully believe in. He doesn’t understand how Mall World can exist, but he trusts Jacob and Mimi. Mostly Mimi. If she’s done the research, the odds are over seventy-five percent. He pulls away from Sanja and turns back to Jacob.

"But is it really feasible for us to enter a dream world?"

"Absolutely!"

Sanja interjects, her words broken as she tries to catch her breath.

"Although the logistics are rather complicated. You two would need to synchronize REM sleep in a matter of a decasecond. Especially if you have no prior training in lucid dreaming."

Neither Rocco nor Jacob expected Sanja to be paying attention to their discussion. Rocco tries to free himself but she tightens her legs around his waist. Realizing escape would be pointless, Rocco settles on top of her. He stares into her shimmery eyes before asking.

"Would that be difficult to pull off?"

Using her grip on him, Sanja lifts herself off the wall while she explains:

"The outcome with the highest possibility would be to induce sleep for both of you. Pharmaceutically, just to be safe. However given the differences in your statures, finding the right dosage would take..."

"Beartime Gummies!"

Jacob and Rocco interrupt her. Sanja is so dazed by their excitement that her hold weakens slightly. Rocco slips free and joins Jacob who’s digging through his messenger bag. He only realizes his mistake when he hears the hard thud of Sanja landing on the stone pathway.

While Rocco is distracted, Jacob pulls out a crumpled bag of gummies. On the front, a cartoon bear in a nightcap and polka dot pajamas smiles sleepily.

"These still look good. No meltage here!"

Jacob inspects the bag while Rocco helps Sanja off the floor. He helps adjust her knee socks, pulling them right up to the absolute territory while Sanja fixes her sweater vest.

"Perfect. Sounds like we're set."

Rocco steals one last kiss before reaching for a couple of gummies. He stops when he feels her tugging on his blazer sleeve. She wears a tight smile while wiping the back of her pleated skirt.

"How quaint. Are we still on for Saturday?"

Rocco looks to Jacob waiting for him to interject. However, he's too busy looking at the gummy bag. It takes him a moment to realize Rocco is staring at him, waiting for a reply.

"Well, we're going at night."

At that, Rocco turns to Sanja, who awaits his confirmation.

"Sure."

She leaps on him to give a quick hug.

"Splendid! Have fun in Mall World!"

She takes off, leaving the boys by themselves. They watch her scamper off nearly colliding with a passing teacher. Jacob shoves the gummies in his bag and hunches over to whisper to Rocco.

"I didn't know you were dating Sanja."

Rocco gives him a puzzled look.

"I'm not. She helped me finish a paper, so I returned the favor."

They walk out of the hiding spot and make their way to the library entrance. For a brief moment, Jacob stands aside as Rocco climbs the stairs. Only after recalling one of the earlier stops does Jacob catch up.

"Professor Riel?"

"Yup."

Rocco briefly opens the door before quickly shutting it. His hair gets disheveled as he rubs the back of his head.

"Shit. That was rude of me."

He turns to face Jacob, looking regretfully.

"Did you want a turn making out with her?"

Jacob considers the late proposal. After some time he shakes his head.

"It feels like I would be in negative debt if I did."

Rocco shrugs as they enter the library.

It is a funny coincidence ever since Goro Taniguchi's comment: "If only adaptations remain, Japanese Anime is done for". There's been a string of announcements for original anime. Which can only be seen as a win. I prefer watching originals over adaptations so I hope there's more so I have a sizeable watchlist for the rest of the year.

Chainsaw man has a pretty fine ending. It's mostly bittersweet since I prefer Asa/Your over Power but it's nice seeing the characters able to live a happy life after all the chaos. Decided to check out an indie TCG called Maiden TCG. It's pretty fun so far. I like the general combat and flow of the game. I'm still getting used to the bases and have to break out of the habit of just trashing them for mana. My favorite play is to use Arthur + Kureha for an easy three damage turn. It helped me out in when I need it the most. Now I just need to get more cards to build a full warrior deck. #Gamestr

Toei uploaded the English dub for Digimon Beatbreak, so I decided to give it a watch. The world seems pretty interesting, with Digimon being monsters that feed on an energy emitted from humans. It reminds me a bit of Data Squad. The leader of the Glowing Dawn has the coolest looking Digimon so far, but I do like the gremlin voice for Gekkomon. Hope it has a decent looking Champion digivolution.

The Shape Store is such a strange phenomena. A vintage AI series captures a version of the urban experience of the 2000s, packaged together like an analog horror presentation with the strange and bizarre Shape Store. The store is a liminal space made of colored blocks that doubles as a theme park. Watching it captures the essence of waking up late at night and watching Adult Swim on TV. With all the hype surrounding X Money's beta release and Strike's full availability, it's time to reduce amount of people I follow. Since the goal of the "Western Everything App," I have tried to stick to the following: Only follow people I would be comfortable tipping. This "limits" my enjoyment of social media, but it's an aspect of the experience I want.

I like that it adds an extra level of engagement to the standard reply/like/repost formula, which has become stale. That's why I like Nostr so much. When someone I follow posts something that resonates with me, I can tip them a couple of dollars to show my appreciation. This is in addition to the general exposure to my followers.

The current 3x3 cycle has come around to animes but since I already posted my 3x3 for it I decided to do one for cartoons. Just looking at my selection Warner Bros really did have a stranglehold on my childhood. It was difficult to not pick anything that didn't air on Cartoon Network. Even afterwards it feels wrong not having K.N.D, Ben 10, a DC cartoon or a Scooby-Doo show in my 3x3.

Scream 7 was an interesting film. In many ways, it reminded me of the Halloween remake. Specifically, the relationship between the final girl and her daughter is similar, except in Scream, it played out as you'd expect. I think it's pretty good compared to the others, but I feel like the writers are stuck on what to do with Ghostface. These fandom killers really take me out of the movie, and I haven't been a fan of them since Scream 5. It was cringe, but fun, in that movie, but now? It just feels like the same old "obsessed fans are awful" take every time.

Still, it's probably my favorite of the Fandom trilogy and I like they way they did the nostalgia bait in this. It felt timely.

I'm considering taking my website off the Old Net. I don't need it there anymore, and I'm tired of it. Given how the future of the current web is turning out, planting seeds in the growing alternative web is the smarter play. Unfortunately, development in new domains is pretty slow. The AI adaptation of Hideshi Hino's Living Corpse is a peculiar work. First, it's a feature length film. This makes me wonder what the budget for the film is. People on Twitter talk about spending thousands, but they could only generate a five minute video. Since this is a feature length film, it must be pretty costly.

Strangely, even though the voice actors are Japanese (Hiroshi Tamura, Shigeru Saiki, Hinako Saeki, Shiro Sano, Tsuyoshi Toshiki, and Junji Ito), it's in English. I'm not sure why they didn't use an AI voice bank to produce Japanese voices. Perhaps they're trying to secure a brief American theatrical release.

I'm wondering how the credits are going to look going by the website the only humans are the Voices, the Actor Models, The director:Takeshi Sone and the producer. Are they the prompters or were there others who helped touched up the film?

Judging by the AI credits it still looks like a far cry of just having one tool be used to make a film much less a full length feature:

After watching a few Kairyu Crocodile videos, I realized that I prefer recorded content to long streams when it comes to Vtubers. This is probably due to the evolution of my media diet. Finally, Lucius is dead! This batch of Black Clover chapters was a great read. Some of my concerns were addressed in this section. Having everyone see Astra directly challenge Lucius's ideal and reaffirm his existence makes it believable that the citizens would also want Astra to be the Wizard King, along with Yuno. It was satisfying to see Noelle get a hit in on Lucius.

I would have preferred the consequences of the arc to be permanent, but that's part of what a Wizard King is supposed to be. The light that protects the kingdom. It's a fitting conclusion within the story existing themes that it works. I've had major issues with Lucius as a character, so seeing his betrayed expression at the end was the icing on the cake.

It seems like the next batch should be the end of the series, unless a small conflict occurs. I can't see it being prolonged anymore. It's been a fun ride.

2025 is over. I finished setting up and deleting wallets to fully focus on my 2026 goal. I accomplished a lot. I published two short stories, "Nerissa and the Uranet Slasher" and "Rendering Point," but I'm disappointed that I didn't finish a long story. Hopefully, I will release more stories in 2026 and finally grasp writing. One of my big goals is to try to shed the passive lifestyle next year and be fully proactive. I can't just let all the festivities pass me by!

Got lucky and was able to get both Ye Shunguang and her W-Engine in 5 pulls. Definitely doesn't beat last year getting a double Miyabi pull but I'm glad to not have made a dent in the war chest. For 2026, I hope the new web will fully embrace its newness. I understand that you need to keep some old web staples for those who are used to the old web. (Readable links and ICANN domains, for example.) However, part of creating a new web should be changing things fundamentally.

Why limit ourselves to the same conventions? Why not push further to tap into the limitless potential of this new frontier? We should change the way websites are read and move away from ICANN so people can express more freedom with their domains. Digital identification feels limited when you have to stick to the remains of the dot-com bubble.

Move past the Web 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 designations to simply "Old Web" (1983–2025) and "New Web" (2026–present). It's difficult to fool myself into believing change is happening when all I see are cages of the past.

Shunrai Table Tennis is a good first chapter. All the Marty Supreme hype has me itching for more Table Tennis media so this was a perfect time to release a new manga series. The fact that it's informative too is a plus.
Mirai is a fun character. Seeing her get her spark back made me want to continue this series. I wonder if it's going into the realm of players having "Special Moves" and go more realistic. It's hints at that with Lightning Bolt but it didn't seem like she did a special swing at all.

Act one of ZEZTZ was pretty good. This show definitely attacks all my micro niches that I'm into. It does feel like we finally exited the prologue into the real meat of the show which judging the new visual seems to be C.O.D.E vs Knightmares. (The Lady = Agent 1?)
Im glad Nox is continuing be an antagonizing force. It would have been disappointing if he turned this quickly. I do hope the paranormal sector gets more involved with the dream plot instead of being stuck in the real world.

Episode 1 of the Nukitashi dub is out! It definitely enhances the viewing experience for me watching in dub. I'm very inclined to laugh more towards the punchy dub scripts since I just get more of the humor than watching subtitles(PARKOUR!) Although I did roll my eyes hearing "instagoon" tho (⁠눈⁠‸⁠눈⁠). Some of the voices were iffy to me but it didn't bring down the overall quality. It's a great watch. Can't wait for episode 2 next week

I decided to check out Love Bullet to see what all the hype is about. It's a pretty novel idea. I definitely enjoy the fact that they use guns instead of bows and arrows. (Chiyo is my favorite Cupid of the bunch) It feels like the plot of a fun mobile game released during the 2010s. I wonder if it would be better if they restarted their lives instead of continuing as is. It would be awkward to be thrown back into life with the potential for everyone you know to be gone. I enjoyed it enough that I'm going to pick up the second volume.

Besides all the game awards discourse, seeing how Exposition 33 release a "Thank You" update after winning Game of the Year made me nostalgic for Game of the Year editions. Even though awards shows aren't that reliable, I always liked that companies took all the patches and updates since release and package them in a brand new "Game of the Year Edition" disc with a cheaper cost to ride the momentum of people saying "This can't be that good??!". It felt healthy for the industry especially since majority people only by 1-2 games a year. Maybe Geoff could push for a revival next year? #Gamestr

Closing in on destination.

The text fades to reveal a dot grid map, filling the screen. A single red dot darts across the map. In the top right corner, the faint, pulsating edge of a blue circle drifts into view. A girl watches, her eyes fixed on the two-inch screen. Sounds of clicking fill the vehicle as she zooms out. The map recedes, revealing the vast distance between the red dot and the blue destination. She lets out a sigh and shoves the candy bar phone into her skirt pocket. She pulls her mantis themed bucket hat over her eyes and gives in to the minibus's relentless jostling.

The compact vehicle races down a vast, empty highway. There is not another soul nor car in sight. It continues until the warm autumnal sunset gradually becomes populated with rows and rows of towering cornfields.The minibus slows down and makes a series of sharp turns before plunging into the golden-brown sea of cornstalks. Its speed decreases drastically, ensuring that the familiar jostling does not turn into a violent shake. It drives on uninterrupted through the rustling corridor until it emerges onto a narrow back road. There, the minibus slows to a crawl, then stops completely.

"We're here!"

The loud voice jolts the girl upright. She pushes the bucket hat back from her eyes and takes in her surroundings. As she moves toward the exit, a heavy weight falls on her shoulder. It is the towheaded Jitney Man, whose fat hand pins her in place. She can feel its clammy heat through her mesh shirt. He fixes his green eyes on her.

"Be careful out there, girly."

The girl nods briefly, then hops off the vehicle. She watches the minibus execute a swift U-turn and pull away down the road. She watches it recede into the setting sun. A harsh vibration from her skirt pulls her attention away from the sight. She takes out her phone and sees a new alert on the screen.

Hello, Atwixen! Objective: Kill the glitch! Reward: 1,335 Scoria.

Atwixen stares into the darkness at the end of the road. She adjusts her hat before venturing into the unknown to complete her objective.

For a while, she notices nothing out of the ordinary, just the same scenery repeating endlessly. Then, a simple speck of light becomes visible in the distance. Atwixen quickens her pace. As she draws near, the world shifts. The fiery orange sky bleeds into a harsh, sterile icy blue. The golden cornstalks warp into towering violet-azure monstrosities flanking the brightly lit road.

At the end of the road, the sky itself is broken. It is a shattered circle that emanates a piercing olo glow. Right in front of it stands a perfectly ordinary scarecrow with a pure white crow perched on its shoulder. Atwixen pulls out her phone and slides down the cover to unveil the camera lens. She opens the scanner app and steadies her hand to frame the strange sight.

After a couple of seconds, the phone displays:

Scan Complete! Glitch: Corvus Lvl: 1

"Level 1. This should be a breeze."

She switches from the scanner to the app beside it. Quanta's Flash. Its icon resembles a sigil: an asterisk over a psi enclosed in a circle with four ℓ branching from its corners. Clicking on the icon sends a bright flash from the phone that knocks the white crow off the scarecrow.

Atwixen notices that the initial flash didn't kill the crow. She advances to deliver another flash, but the crow lets out a shattering screech. The sound causes a ringing in her skull, stunning her. Atwixen fights to steady herself when a murder of crows erupts from the surrounding cornfields. They swarm around the fallen crow, coalescing into a single, shifting, anomalous blob.

Realizing the situation, Atwixen fires another Quanta's Flash. This time, the flash does little to affect the collective form. She switches back to the scanner app, where a warning flashes on the screen.

Warning!
Glitch has evolved to Level 2. Proceed with caution.

The blob collapses inward, reforming into an even larger, more distorted crow. It spreads its vast, four-winged body, flapping and sending a concussive gust of wind that forces Atwixen back. She braces herself, holding on to her hat with one hand while fiddling with her phone with the other. She moves past Quanta's Flash to another app beside it. This icon resembles Quanta's Flash, but it is bound by chains. Unlike the previous app, it is nameless.

She selects it, sending out a brighter, sharper flash. This time, it works, and the distorted crow flinches and screams in pain. All four of its blazing red eyes lock onto Atwixen. It takes off toward her with terrifying speed, even toppling the scarecrow in the process.

She tries to perform another attack, but her phone screen shutters. It's frozen, a side effect of using the sigil. Atwixen turns around and sprints toward the distant sunset. She frantically clicks the unresponsive keys until she hears the app selection chime. She spins on her heels, selecting the chained sigil again.

Unfortunately, the crow is ready this time. It banks sharply, spinning clockwise to maneuver around the flash. It seizes on her delayed reaction, accelerating to the point that it resembles a white arrow. Atwixen tries to dodge it, but the crow is too fast. Its sharp beak clips her shoulder, tearing through her mesh shirt and sending a jolt of white-hot pain through her arm.

The force of the impact sends Atwixen tumbling head over heels down the road. She is abruptly stopped by an invisible wall. It is the self-form boundary that seals off the normal world from the rending point. Atwixen struggles to her feet, pressing one hand to her stinging shoulder. She sees blood staining her fair skin as it wells through her fingers.

The crow circles triumphantly in the air. The cornstalks thrash in the wind from its wings, creating a grotesque cheering audience. Atwixen turns around to face the setting sun. As she subtly presses the keys on her phone, she takes in the tranquil sight.

She moves away from the bound icon to the next one. The new sigil is drastically different from the others. Its glyphs shatter everything except the asterisk, which remains intact. Its display of destruction is befitting of its name: Quanta's Wrath.

Atwixen waits. She waits until she can feel the shifts in the wind. When the crow breaks off its celebration to attack her again. The crow soars toward the cracked sky, entering a sharp fall and using its momentum to slingshot itself forward with obliterating speed. Its velocity tears the glowing road, sending rubble into the air. The glowing bits cast shadows on the cornstalks, giving the monstrosities ghastly, grinning faces.

Without wasting a moment, Atwixen spins around. Blood flies as she steadies her shoulder and raises her phone. A flash engulfs the rending point, eclipsing the icy sky. From the searing heat of the light, a colossal hand forms. It flies and seizes the crow before it can get close to Atwixen. The crow tries to unleash its stunning screech, but it comes out as a strangled whimper. The incandescent hand tightens its grip.

There is a final, sickening crunch as the hand squeezes the crow, exploding it into a cloud of pixelated debris. The scattered remains float toward the cracked sky, retreating back to their world. The sky slowly knits itself back together. The harsh blue sky quietly softens, and the monstrous cornstalks shift back into their regular shape. Finally, as the last bit of debris pulls the scarecrow with it, the sky returns to normal.

Atwixen glances at her phone. The screen is black; not even the lights behind the keypad are on. She begins to walk toward the nearly set sun. Her slow pace is a testament to the battle's toll. Some time passes before she returns to where the minibus emerged. A welcome vibration rattles her hand. She lifts her phone to read the message on the screen.

The door hisses open as Atwixen makes her way to it. The Jitney Man's face did little to hide his concern about Atwixen's state. Before he could say anything, Atwixen gives him a thumbs-up. The Jitney Man throws his head back, laughing as he reaches for a first aid kit.

"Not bad, girly! Come on lets get you home!"

He hands her the kit, waiting until she slumps down in her seat before pulling away. Atwixen starts to clean her wound, but another vibration buzzes against her leg.

New job! A strange anomaly is growing in Pak Falls. It seems the Rendering Point will occur around October 31. The reward is 4,000 Scoria. [Accept?]

Without a second thought, Atwixen clicks "yes." After bandaging her arm, she pulls her bucket hat over her eyes and succumbs to the minibus's relentless jostling.

Shogun's Ninja was a great film! It's entertaining throughout, like a gem you find in a Blu-ray bin. The cast of characters was strong, too. Okyo was probably my favorite character. There were surprisingly more casualties on the "good side" than I was expecting. I wonder if it will be released physically over here in America.

Blackfox: Age of the Ninja was fun. It definitely evoked sense of nostalgia for watching old kung fu VHS tapes as a kid. The cheesy English dub did help with that. I was surprised by how fast-paced the movie was, and before I knew it, it was already over. Did feel disappointed the enemies didn't really have any cool techniques like Rikka's nine tailed hurricane. It's definitely a movie to watch with friends and have a good time.

I decided to read Magical Girl Dandelion. I'm not usually into shojo, but after reading an interview with the artist who mentioned that her art is sort of shonen-esque, I decided to give it a shot. It's a fun read, and I'm enjoying all the characters so far. The art is impressive, especially the dynamism of Dandelion's attacks. Of course, I enjoyed the movie arc the most so far. I'm definitely going to try to keep up with it.
