I've written a few water/ice starship stories.
One was set on a training day at a future "cop city" facility setting!

There's no such thing as Malthusianism in the commonly held fascist sense but there's an obvious reason why it is perceived to be.

Think of it as the press and intelligentsia of the time getting ahold of a review of a big boring "new" economics book which did use some spicy language to make a point ... but then Malthus continued to work over decades on the issues of starvation, population growth, agricultural production and pricing/tariffs-on-staple-crops.
