Gulf states may want to work closer with Israel, potentially paving the way for more peace and normalization.

Lebanon is seeking to link possible talks with Israel to a temporary ceasefire, but anti-Hezbollah factions are pushing for negotiations even under continued hostilities, a Lebanese political source told Kan.

The source said Israel’s move toward direct talks could weaken Iran’s leverage and unsettle Hezbollah, though insisting on a ceasefire first is seen as impractical given Beirut’s limited ability to disarm the group.

The official argued Beirut may have little choice but to proceed regardless of fighting on the ground, which could ultimately strengthen efforts to curb Hezbollah politically and militarily.
